  1. Hey, I was also accepted into EPP but not heard from Berkeley yet. Which one are you planning to take on or are you waiting on more unis to get back?
  2. No idea about the interviews. But I emailed them and they said results will be out by first week of March but maybe sooner.....which has always been the official line so not useful information I guess.
  3. Hi! I applied to ERG too.....any idea when they are sending out results this year?
  4. well it seems to be across multiple schools so wouldn't worry too much
  5. Phew! I was having the same problem. Guess it must be a system glitch then.
  6. In the same boat re:MIT, I was wondering whether to email the graduate administrator at MIT and ask. I don't want to add to their load unnecessarily though.
  7. Congrats! Hopefully I hear something soon. What was your subfield?
  8. As per the results page, Columbia is going to be mid-february this year.
  9. Seems like someone contacted Georgetown, there's an update on the results page. Mid-March seems ages away right now.
  10. anyone know when MIT is going to be out?
  11. I completely agree. I've already told friends and family that if it doesn't work out this cycle, I most likely won't be applying again. I just don't see myself having a stronger application in the future, if anything it will be weaker. Not to mention the added costs, time, effort and soul-destroying wait! It's now or never and that adds to the pressure certainly. On the other hand like you said, all you need is one acceptance so until you've received results from all your applications, you can't let your head drop. Also I disagree that there's shame etc in being rejected. The process is extremely subjective, random and I've seen people on this thread last year who got into Harvard but failed to get into what must have been their third or fourth choice universities. One of my own friends got into Stanford but failed to get into Cornell, Michigan and MIT among others. You simply cannot take any of this personally.
  12. Rejection from Stanford here too. Gutted because although you can never expect to get into such a school, I did think the fit was very good. The wait continues.
  13. haha, you got nuclear right but I'm definitely not (and never was) at Harvard!
  14. As a great football (soccer) manager once said...."Squeaky bum time"
  15. In the email I received confirming the receipt of my application, they did say that decisions would be released end of January, early February...
  16. Something tells me Stanford results will be out this week. That something is a mix of desperation, impatience and imagination mind..........
  17. I completely agree. Everything I read before I applied told me that I will have a very small chance simply because I had studied in the UK and that I should consider doing a MA in the US first before applying for a PhD. The biggest issue seemed to be with LORs but also with grades and research work undertaken. Quite simply put, my understanding is that if there are two students of roughly the same calibre, one who has studied in the US and one who hasn't, the student with an American degree has a huge advantage. This is at least what I gathered from various blogs on the internet, not least Christ Blattman's and Nuno Monteiro's. PS: This isn't me getting my excuses in early (ha!), it's just my understanding of how the system works.
  18. Well I just gave in my scores as they are because of the same reason you mentioned, all the schools I contacted said they are familiar with the UK system and asked me to NOT convert into a GPA.
  19. Aye. Looking at last year's cycle, the 3rd week of February was just carnage. This cracked me up!
  20. 5. Interests are very narrow so there were only a few schools I could imagine a decent fit in. I'm now pretty much done and looking forward to a backpacking trip across SE-Asia over Xmas/NY! Good luck to everyone who has applications remaining, see you all in Jan
