To the person who posted on the results page for Duke: was it an email to check the website? an email from the Grad Admin?

That was kind of what my gut told me. I just would hate to be "that guy" if everyone else is in t-shirts and jeans. Of course, maybe I am "that guy" and just need to own it.

Dumb question: What do people wear to Recruitment days? I know that's such a silly thing, but is it business casual? Business? Casual? I'm currently in a profession that is at minimum business casual, and often full business - even for random lunches. So, I've forgotten what it's like to be normal.

What's the current Duke (theory) status? Any folks admitted there, but planning to decline? Just curious.

I emailed the DGS and the director nicely told me I was rejected. Didn't make the pain any less real, but at least she was nice about it.

So, just to be clear - you've applied to the Kennedy School doctoral program in Political Economy, Social Policy, Health Policy, and/or Social Policy and not the doctoral program in Government from the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences. Correct?

How in the world did you find that out? Thom Wall has made it clear that decisions would not go out until March 3rd.

So, at this point, would begging be appropriate?

Was just told I'm on the waitlist (one of three) for Duke theory. I don't ask you for much, but if you're a. accepted to Duke and b. not planning to attend, could you please decline your offer sooner rather than later? Like, you people accepted at MIT/Stanford/Michigan/Columbia? Pretty please? Just for good measure . . .

How do you know this about Rochester? My understanding from the phone call I had with the grad admin was that we'd hear more this week.

Just got another automated notice from UCSD saying that I had been rejected . . . again. I guess they just really wanted to make it clear that, not by any stretch of the imagination, am I admitted. Thanks, UCSD. I got it the first time.

Same here. We can relax a little over the next couple of days. Good luck with UNC. I think you and I are also both waiting on a "we definitely hate you" from Duke, too.

Intel: WUSTL will likely be in either the end of this week or the beginning of next (per the grad administrator). Michigan will be the beginning of next week. Rochester will be next Monday.

Also rejected at UCSD. They wanted to reject me so much they got up in the middle of the night to do it. Congrats to those who got in, though!
