@hiclub2 are you currently a BSW? Can you shed any insight on the strength of NYU's MSW program? Either from your experience (if you are MSW) or what you have heard other's perceptions of it have been?

@hla003 Yes. Our clinical program is what we're known for and is the strongest. The other track S.W.A.P.P. (Policy/Macro) is not as strong. The internship I'm at right now at a domestic & sexual violence agency has 3 clinical MSWs there too (from VCU) who are all seeing clients on their own for counseling. As far as I know, once you are in your clinical concentration year (2nd year) you'll be in a placement with opportunities to counsel and receiving weekly supervision from an MSW or LCSW. Also- Richmond has a huge nonprofit sector which means LOTS of field placement sites!

Alright y'all its Monday. It's either happening today or within the next four days. We've waited 3 months already, we can do this! At least this is the pep talk I give myself

@rad1993 add me as a +1 for worried about price tags. I'd be moving to NY from Richmond, Virginia which is a pretty affordable city. It's going to be a huge financial burden to come to NY for school whether I go to NYU or Columbia but I'm hoping that the experience is worth it and that I get a decent financial aid package (as we all are hoping haha)

Geez y'all what happened to this place yesterday. Glad to see some more people heard back, though it sounds like advanced standing people haven't started receiving decisions yet, which gives me hope. Here's to constant email refreshing starting Monday. Congrats to those who got in yesterday!

Hey I'm a BSW student at VCU right now. I heard today that they're still on track to get decisions out in April so it's going to be awhile On the plus side though, VCU is an amazing school & great social work program! We recently moved to a beautiful new building and have been making huge strides the last few years to improve the program. I have LOVED LOVED LOVED all of my professors, classmates, and SSW staff. VCU has a really diverse and open-minded culture with meshes well with us social work-y people. Hope you get in and choose to go there!

You guys, I am so SO so SO anxious!!!!!!! Someone please call for me and ask when they are sending out advanced standing decisions. I'm at my internship and can't call, ah!

Congrats @SocialWorkerSA! How exciting! I wouldn't be able to go back to sleep either, ahaha. @Bear Sweetest- I called and asked them about advanced standing acceptance rates back the summer and they would not disclose it to me

Yup it was for advanced standing. I applied the day the app was due on the 9th and heard back on the 21st. It was insanely fast!

I wonder if they can see how many times I've opened my application to check on it.... because it is probably like 100 at least. -______-

Ugh I know I've been lurking this website for months and literally just figured out how to log into my account again just so I could ask who else is waiting in a state of constant panic with me to see if they got in Advanced Standing. I feel like my anxiety is at an all time high this week knowing it is the last week before March and highly likely I will be hearing back from the rest of my schools any day/minute/second nowwwww

Who here applied advanced standing??? When I first submitted my app they told me over the phone we would not be hearing until "pretty much March" because they go through all of our course descriptions to make sure they will transfer in all of you applicable BSW courses, and if not, then tell you in your acceptance letter what you need to take over the summer. I am dying over here...it is "pretty much March" Columbia!!! AHHH
