Mine just says 2015 Visual Arts MFA instead of anything with sculpture.... Always has said 2015 Visual Arts MFA too.

Are Pilsen/Bridgeport/humboldt park safe neighborhoods? It doesn't have to be the ritz or anything, but I want to be in somewhere where my car isn't broken into haha (been there done that )... But I will do some research on your suggestion! Thanks for being helpful!

I did the same thing with Chicago and it freaked me out. Maybe you should look into on campus housing and also ask in your interviews about recommendations/on campus housing... That's my plan. This site could potentially be a resource for you to find a roomate as well....

Has anyone... Gotten an acceptance email from Ohio State sculpture department OR contacted by the UCLA sculpture department OR contacted by the Columbia sculpture program?? Still waiting for VCU too and keeping my hopes up despite that others have gotten interviews already... A lot of people assume rejection if others say they've heard before them for interviews, but I think that might be a little bit of an extreme reaction.... I heard from Berkeley before some people and I heard from SAIC after a bunch for people for their sculpture department... It seems as if interview requests don't go out all at the same time for whatever reason! Chins up peeps!

Not really, but there is an amazing list of compiled questions in one of the other threads if you haven't noticed! Yeah, I wish we had a RISD graduate in here we could bug like the UCLA student that stops in sometimes!

Hey I had a interview with Berkeley and I'm on their shortlist. I think Berkeley has already contacted potential candidates... Good luck with VCU though! I'm jealous about that! Still waiting for contact from their sculpture department !

Ohio state university is mailing out acceptances/rejections early march! If that helps anyone...

Looking at the 2014 thread, I found that people starting getting offers with funding informally from Ohio state university through email starting February 21... Ohio state doesn't do interviews normally (I emailed and asked) .... Is it okay that I haven't heard anything from them? I heard some people from sculpture have been told that they're on the short list.... I'm on this thread very often obviously

I got that too! I got a message from my mom that I got a letter from RISD a couple weeks ago so I drove forty five minutes to her house and then it was just a brochure!! Tears. Yea, I think it is just to give you a little taste of what they're department is like.

Everybody's VCU application says they're missing a transcript, but as long as you uploaded an unofficial one, you are fine. Did you upload an unofficial one into your application? You didn't have to send official ones until you were accepted, but it's probably no big deal that you sent them already. I think maybe you should call about the missing letter? The number is on their website at the bottom.

Just received an offer for a full ride and stipend, but they're only giving me two weeks to accept or decline. I haven't heard back from 6/10 schools I applied for and don't expect to hear back from them at all till the last week of February/ first week of March (based upon what they've told me). By the way, the last week of February is two weeks from now! I might only begin to SCHEDULE interviewing with some of my other schools by then (knock on wood). Accept the school and I'm giving up the possibility of what the other schools may offer, decline and I may screw myself over and give up an amazing opportunity.

Yeah, that columbia financial needs thing was insane. It confused me so I asked my parents about it (my parents were financial officers for the government) and this is was their advice on how to fill it out for those if us who are either 1. dependent or 2. independent, but still receive some help from their parents: If you really spent 0 of your own money, then you should put zero. My parents helped me somewhat still so I put zeroes in for the things they paid for. Then, I made estimates of the average I spent for each of the different criteria. I could be wrong though... Any other thoughts? I think the part where it makes you list expenses was per month correct? Also, you should fill out your fafsa and send it to them if you didn't do that.

I would just email instead! I think email is a little less intrusive, but you really could call. My thought on it: it is better to seem pushy than to seem shy or disinterested.

Does anyone know how many people SAIC accepts each year for each separate department (Photo, Sculpture, Fiber and Material Studies...) ?

Haven't heard anything from RISD yet... But, each department sends out requests at their own discretion. I emailed RISD and that's what the admission department told me.... Does anyone know if they send out requests/rejections at the same time? Yale had the good manners to do that!

Yea, Czarina, I've heard that different departments within a program send out requests at different times. I haven't gotten any requests for interviews yet either.... So scary... I think that February will be the big month for interview requests so I wouldn't ring the alarm yet (easier said than done I know). Waiting is the hardest part- tom petty Lol

Hi everybody!! I'm currently applying to a program that explicitly asks for a maximum of 2 detail images. Are detail images only close-ups of a larger piece? Or, do installation views of a piece installed in a gallery also count as a detail image? Ex: Gradcafe (installation view) Gradcafe, detail Thanks for the help! Sorry if that's a dumb question ... I'm just a little bit paranoid about these things!
