    MFA Sculpture

congrats! I know it's early but still waiting anxiously over here...
  2. I don't know anything about the programs you just mentioned. But wanted to comment b/c my husband just got his masters from UDel...although he graduated from the college of earth and marine sciences. We lived in Newark for 2.5 yrs and got to meet a lot of artists while there though, and they really have a great little community. Newark isn't the most diverse town, but you're 2 hours from NY or DC, 1 hour from Baltimore and 45 minutes from Philly. It is such a central location. Also wanted to add that I was impressed by the caliber of some of the work I saw come out of UDel's art program. I think they have some decent faculty there. I am pretty sure they have some nice funding packages too. Just food for thought. Good luck on your apps!
  3. Honestly, If I were you, I would find others to write you recommendations. I wouldn't want to mess around with the consequences involved in something like that. Good luck!
  4. ditto. I think as long as your portfolio is strong a liberal arts background might even help you.
  5. Sorry Daisy. I'm not applying for residencies currently, but went to Jentel in 2007 and it was a wonderful place. Check it out for your next round of applications.
  6. Yes, I have heard fantastic things about Bard's program. I am applying there for Sculpture.

    MFA Sculpture

Hi...I am also applying to sculpture MFA programs. I also chose Yale and Columbia. In addition, I am applying to VCU and Bard. VCU has a fantastic sculpture + extended media program. I guess it just comes down to whether or not you want to live in Richmond for 2 years. I have heard that they have fantastic funding though, so that is a huge plus for me. I am interested in Bard's low residency program...as a different option. I chose schools in which I really like the work of former students and faculty, but also have great reputation. I might apply to NYU, but haven't decided completely yet.
