  1. so i've been wondering...do you anticipate finalists getting earlier feedback regarding the final decision? I'm going to hope that an earlier notification of recommendation also equals an earlier notification of whether it is all real....or not. lol . #Theanxiety
  2. Thanks. I think my interviewers were somewhat responsive, but I prepared myself for the absolute worst...so that helped a little bit. Good luck to everyone else completing interviews this week!
  3. It went really well! The interview was around 20 minutes (as they had promised). They asked me to describe myself, and my experiences working with kids, what age group I was most interested in working with (and why), and why I had chosen the Fulbright Program/their Program in specific. I was a little nervous at first, and I answered each question thoroughly...because I wanted to make sure I got my point across. They said they were impressed with my extensive background in education (which I do have). At this point, I'm leaving this in the hands of the most high...let's see how this goes...another month of anxiety awaits!
  4. ...Just wrapped up my interview..... ...and so the waiting begins...
  5. Im applying to Greece. It is a Skype interview. I am not sure what exactly to expect for this interview, but like you said...I am pretty familiar with my application so I shouldn't have to worry this much. I think I'm freaking out because I did not expect it at ALL. We shall overcome...... Lol.
  6. Received an e-mail this morning requesting an interview in about two weeks. I didn't anticipate this, so now I'm freaking out. Guys...how can I possibly prepare for this? #sos
  7. Hi! I actually haven't enrolled in one of those types of classes, even though I am strongly considering it because I would like to teach somewhere overseas. Schools in most countries ask that you have either teaching certification + experience, AND/OR a TESOL/TEFL certificate...it all depends on the program.
  8. I read through one of my essays and caught a small error...and now I am angry. How silly of me...
  9. Congrats to everyone for making it through this far...i know that completing an application for Fulbright and even getting this far is a pretty big deal!!! I was recommended for Greece ETA...in utter disbelief...but happy to have made it through this first round...now...more anticipation for the next round of e-mails.......
  10. I'm not sure if this is the best news or the worst news I've received this week. 1. I just had a mini heart attack in class 2. On Friday... I will be in an ACTUAL DESERT with no access to the outside world until later this week. ... Those GIFs are so relevant.
  11. I'm not sure I can wait until the 30th. My heart hurts.
  12. Somewhere on the website I saw the date Jan. 30 stick out....and so the countdown begins...!
  13. Then, February..and furthermore...March. I cannot take it. S.O.S.
  14. Best of luck to both of you!
  15. I applied to the Arabic program! Laowhy-- Thank you for sharing your experience and for the advice !
  16. ...Is it too early to start one of these threads? I submitted my application a few days ago and am wondering when we would find out...
  17. At least I am not the only person freaking out about Fulbright months before the decisions are made...... lol.... #Unity
  18. LOL at the person who dreamt about teaching in Chicago. I literally LOL'd. I have had dreams about Fulbright about every other night since I submitted my application. I am not sure how I'll hold up until January, thank God for my senior seminar papers + thesis + jobs + everything else.
  19. Thank you so much for the advice. I did end up asking myself those questions, and still- my heart is set on Greece. I've submitted all my materials to the Fulbright Campus Advisor and now will just work with her to make sure that everything is polished and ready to go. (I'm the only person at my school applying to Greece even though my institution is one of the top producing schools of Fulbright Scholars. Good luck to everyone!!!!!
  20. Hi everyone. I'm really late in all of this and am JUST starting my application today. I am super excited about this opportunity! Any tips on those applying to an ETA in Greece? Are there regions/countries I should be looking at or do they vary depending on specific interests? Also, my GPA is not all that great (3.2) so I'm trying to figure out if my application/recommendation letters will be of any substantial help. I need all of the advice I can get!
