I have a similar question. Would it be possible to leverage a fellowship from different institution when negotiating a funding possibility to the school where I receive no funding? I received some from CMU but I'd like to attend SIPA where there is no funding. Is it even possible some people receive funding after the decisions were already made?

Great schools. But isn't CMU far more prestigious (both curriculum and the name) than SUNY Albany? It looks like CMU is the best bet.

Congrats to all who got into the prestigious schools you dreamed of! Now we all have to decide where to go, and there is no doubt it is going to a hard one. I'd like to open up this thread to hear about decisions of all and our opinions about each school. I will go first. NYU Wanger MPA Columbia SIPA MIA UChicago Harris MSCAPP UT Austin LBJ MPAFF NO FUNDING....! So, even though SIPA is my top choice, my worries about the $$$ is getting in my way. I am also concerned about the large size of class at SIPA. What are your options, decisions, and opinions?

why not MSCAPP? Then why did you apply in the first place? To me, MSCAPP has more advantages than the regular MPP. I didn't receive any funding so I don't know if I'm going but...yea.

I hate Goldman already. Why wait until the very last minute to reject applicants? Just tell me already!!!! How cruel of them......

I emailed funding office, If you were awarded a fellowship, you would have received a letter today. If you didn't receive notification, then unfortunately we weren't able to offer you an award at this point. Still happy but man it's expensive

Does anyone know how rolling admission work? below is from CIPA website. So does it mean that they can close it whenever # of applicants are maxed out? (even before January) CIPA has a rolling admissions program, admitting qualified students throughout the year. As numbers of applicants have been increasing, admissions may be closed at any point when the class is full. Candidates are urged to apply between November and January.

What's the biggest difference between MPA and MIA program? What were your qualifications at the time of application? (experience, GRE... etc) I am too jealous...
