  1. Thanks for the info on Cornell, it helps a lot. I was close to knocking it off the list so it's good to hear your insights. As far as IUP, I took a quick look at the website and when I saw a photo of the sculpture facilities, I was really surprised! You guys have a warehouse, that's amazing. How will you ever come back to Brooklyn after having all that space?! I'm going to check it out further, thanks again.
  2. I haven't been there yet but I hope to soon, especially to that area. It definitely appeals to my sensibilities. I imagine that will be an extraordinary experience for you to study there. I wish you all the best with your applications. And thanks so much for the vote of confidence, I really appreciate it. Btw, I've added OSU to my list. Thanks again.
  3. Indeed, you are right, I may need to add this. Thanks! So challenging to get this list down to ten as that is what the FAFSA limit is. You managed to come up with a solid list and I love that you have Burren on it.
  4. Hi, I'm trying to narrow down my list. I'd love to stay in nyc but my ideal school should have great sculpture facilities and I'd like to go for free, if possible. This is what I have so far. (I went to Brooklyn College for my BFA) Yale (Sculpture) Hunter (Sculpture) VCU (Sculpture + Fibers) UCLA (Sculpture) SAIC (Sculpture + Fibers + Body & Garment) U Texas at Austin (Sculpture) UPenn (Sculpture) Syracuse (Sculpture) Cornell? Stanford? School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston? Bard? Columbia? Queens CUNY CITY CUNY
  5. Thanks for posting this awesome report Lauren. It made me laugh (in the best of ways). I have run into people from time to time who were in the MFA program at nyaa and all had positive reviews about their experiences there and all were exceptionally talented. Have you looked into it at all? http://nyaa.edu/nyaa/academics.html
  6. "Artpup" I've been interested in a number of schools in NYC. I've made my decision on other places, but I would like to look into NYC, as well. Any information or advice on these schools in particular: Hunter college Columbia NYU SVA Of course, information about any other NY area school would be helpful, too! I would describe my work to be more experimental Video and Installation, as opposed to traditional sculpture and film (if this information is relevant) Thanks! There are the other CUNY schools in addition to Hunter. Brooklyn College (Vito Acconci is there). There is also City College at 138th st. and Queens College. Outside of the city there is Purchase which is a state university. I think it's about an hour away.
