I sent one a minute ago since I haven't received the final NCER e-mail and it's June 25th... have not yet gotten the kickback e-mail but I just sent my e-mail.

It looks like once this grant is closed for long enough, the posts will be updated with a "No. of applications received", as most of the older closed opportunities have under their individual listings: http://www.epa.gov/ogd/competition/closed_awards.htm Perhaps around July we'll have a better idea of how many people applied under which topics.

got all three letters in! woof! good luck everyone

has anyone received confirmation e-mail(s) for recommendation letters? I know one will be sent in today, but my other two writers should've sent them in by now and I haven't received anything. Under "Guidelines for Writers" Letter writers should go to the url sent by the applicant to receive submission instructions using the applicant’s unique ID number. Submission instructions for letter writers are also provided below. Letters of Recommendation must be submitted in PDF format only (no zip files). Both the letter writer and the applicant should receive confirmation emails once the letter has been submitted.

Hahaha. Oh my god you're the best. Fingers crossed for us both. I applied under surface water quality/hydrogeology. What did you apply under? Maybe I shouldn't have posted anything about it! Lol

Thank you! Everything you discussed above was what I was thinking as well. Perhaps the chances are more in my favor. I received all goods and a very good from NSF before I revised my proposal following my proposal defense, so maybe my chances are better now. Did you apply? Thanks for the info.

Just wanted to start a thread about this fellowship. I applied and am wondering if anyone knows more specifics on how many people apply every year/how competitive compared to NSF, considering it is only open to environmental students and was only open for a month.

Quickly realizing my plans to sleep over the next five hours are NIL
-
let's wait and see if the notice goes up at 10 pm
-
I'm going to end up falling asleep on time but waking up in the middle of the night to check

I feel like it's definitely tonight. There have been few times where fastlane shut down 10 pm -3 am and I feel like those time when it did, the announcement that the site would be down wasn't made this far in advance. It's like they're telling us without telling us, as littlemoondragon pointed out.

guys we're basically finding out tomorrow

Wondering the same thing (I think I need to just stop getting on this forum)
-
I know this is trivial, but what does "Final Status:" say when you get it? Awarded? and I suppose probably "Rejected" if not?
-
Just got an e-mail from a thesis committee member with the word "discoveries" in it. NSF motto: Where discoveries begin. Me: Reading way too much into just about everything
-
that gave me a heart attack!
-
fastlane has been down for a longish time now
-
Where did you see that? far down the twitter page?
-
fastlane is down for me, did we know it was going to be down today? (not like it matters that much!!)
-
I wish they would just post a date around nowish saying when the announcement would be made. Would be great.

Is it always a Friday?

This is the same exact situation for me. I'm a triplet and undergrad was expensive enough (student loans). The NSF has about all of the freedom that is possible for funding, is a ton of money in comparison to usual school funds, and opens up the door for a possible PhD. I'm in the first year of a MS right now that is paying for tuition but that's about it (lucky to be close to home/in my home state).
