  1. I'm in the CS PhD program at CUNY. I would definitely look into the program at the Graduate Center. CCNY and Baruch don't have separate PhD programs, they are all housed at the Graduate Center. But you can work with pretty much any faculty across CUNY. I recommend that you check out the website and look under research areas to find faculty working in your area of interest. https://www.gc.cuny.edu/Page-Elements/Academics-Research-Centers-Initiatives/Doctoral-Programs/Computer-Science We've admitted non-traditional students into our program over the last few years, so I would definitely say you have a shot, especially if you're able to connect with a professor that you want to work with. Let me know if you have any questions about the program!
  2. I emailed NYU Stern's PhD in Statistics program to get a status update and found out that I didn't get in. So I've decided to attend CUNY's PhD in Computer Science in the fall. I'm finishing up my MS in Statistics this summer so it will be an interesting transition. I think the most ironic part is that I'll be doing a PhD in Comp Sci when I've never taken a computer science class. I'll be turning down Stony Brook, so if anyone is on the waitlist there, good luck!
  3. Yeah I just wish they would respond with an official decision. I've heard from the other schools I applied to, just waiting on them. Problem is that it's my top choice so it would completely change my decision if I got in! Who did you email to get info?
  4. Has anyone heard anything from NYU Stern's PhD in Statistics? I still haven't heard anything. It's a small program so maybe no one else here applied there.
  5. Just got rejected from Columbia DRO. It said in the letter they recieved over 800 applications for 21 positions. Congrats to anyone who did get in.
  6. How was it? Did they say how many people they are interviewing? I hope I hear something from them.
  7. I saw a few interviews for the DRO PhD at Columbia Business School in the results search. Anyone know if they have sent all the invitations out? Should be worried since I haven't heard anything?
  8. I was accepted to the PhD in Computer Science at CUNY today and wanted to find out what people think about this program. My research interest is primarily machine learning. I've spoken with a few professors and have gotten a pretty good impression.
  9. I applied to the MS in Business Analytics at Fordham last year on April 24th and got my decision by email on May 23rd. Not sure if it is the same for the MA programs. Hope that helps!
  10. GRE Powerprep #1: 163V, 166Q GRE Powerprep #2: 163V, 164Q Actual: 164V, 168Q Studied about 4 hours total the day before the exam. I'm so happy with my score, just hope it is good enough.
  11. I am applying to Ph.D. programs and need help with my SOP. The biggest issue I have is trying to explain my very non-traditional background. I know I shouldn't worry too much according to the Math & Statistics board about the SOP but I feel like since I am a special case I need to pay particular attention to what I say. Let me know what you think: SOP
