top philosophy program interrogation list

I'm at Rutgers right now. I love, love, love it. We have some of the most brilliant, kind people I've ever met. It's a really strong and positive community. There are times when everyone on the floor must be stressed out beyond belief, yet people still manage to be supportive and fun to be around. Another nice thing about Rutgers is that the department is so big, you're bound to find people you mesh well with, and if there are people you don't mesh so well with, you don't have to be stuck dealing with them all the time. But I want to reemphasize that the people are great. -
I believe contact information concerning the climate for women and other marginalized groups was also solicited. Thanks, arl!

Sorry; I didn't see the separate thread. Waitlisted at Chapel Hill.

Congrats on UNC! I just got a rejection from Brown.

That's dizzying!

Thank you!

Thanks! I'm pretty emotional right now. It's like the shock wore off. I've been crying and missing dead relatives. This is the best week of my life -- I wish they were here for it.

Facebook Gender Climate Group for Applicants

Thanks for posting! You're right -- great resource. -
We have nine people so far. The following are welcome: transgender women, CISgender women, women of all sexualities (and no sexuality), and anyone else who lives everyday life as a woman (whether publicly or in secret, and whether by choice or not). If you're interested, private message me your info and I'll add you on FB. This is meant to be a confidential, supportive space. Last year there was initially some argument over the value of having such a group. If you don't see the value in it, simply don't opt in. I am told that this was a wonderful experience last year, and it will be good to exchange our climate experiences, especially after campus visits. Cherie

Congrats, all! Spring Garden is the best Philly.

Thanks, all! Congrats to all the other acceptees (word?)! I don't have a credence of one that I've been rejected from Duke and Berkeley, but I'm going with that assumption for now. No harm is done if they surprise me later.

Accepted to Toronto. 2a/0w/2 unofficial r (based on news of acceptances)

I doubt I'll get an offer from Berkeley. If I did, there's no telling. If I get accepted somewhere else, I will research the departments more, talk to the teachers and students, see what course offerings I can expect, compare the funding, etc. Arizona has an awesome program. I want to make the best all-things-considered decision when the time comes (if I have a decision to make).

Okay, pure speculation. Berkeley has been so busy grooving to the mellow tunes of Rick Astley that it's slowed down their notification process. They'll be in touch with me tomorrow. amiright?
-
I rickrolled Berkeley. They had a place to put a YouTube link. I couldn't help it...

Thanks, all!

Accepted to Arizona.

The FB group currently has six people. We welcome more. Apparently last year's group had around 100! -
Ian, you're at Penn? I live in Philadelphia. My husband teaches at Penn.

Now is when I shorten my signature line to spare my face from the eggs later...
