Just accepted my offer to Mount Sinai! Any of my future classmates here?

Actually everybody in every single program has until April 15th to notify, although most programs ask people to kindly tell them as soon as possible. I rejected my offer to Columbia's integrated program today, so maybe that spot will be for you! Good luck!

got into UPenn CAMB and Hopkins pharmacology!! At this point the novelty and excitement of getting accepted has pretty much worn off. I'm 99% sure that I'll end up going to Mount Sinai. Anyone else think they're gonna attend Sinai?

Got an interview to Umiami PiBS a few days ago, and just got my rejection to Sloan-Kettering today. Also didn't get an interview to Rockefeller, so expecting a rejection.

got my interview schedule from mount sinai yesterday! now to creep on my interviewers!

I originally wanted to apply to only 5 schools and all of my advisers said to apply to a least 7-9 because funding has been cut so drastically over the past few years and as a result most programs accept less students.

I would assume that means that they didn't get as many applicants as expected.

Sometimes they will still review an incomplete application. That's what sloan kettering told me when my GRE scores didn't make it there....

I don't remember choosing a specific program but if i did it would have either been molecular and cell biology or something to do with oncology so that's a big possibility. I know that NYU has a low acceptance rate but I would think that if i got interviews to upenn, columbia, and johns hopkins then I would get one for NYU too.... Has anyone else that expressed interest in oncology for NYU sackler gotten an interview?

Interview to Johns Hopkins Cellular and Molecular Biology! I already accepted an interview to their pharmacology program so it will be kind of weird to go through the "get to know Johns Hopkins/Baltimore" process twice (if I do accept). I still haven't accepted my UPenn interview because I believe it overlaps with NYU Sackler and historically they have sent out interviews this week, but still waiting. Ugh

I have been told my numerous professors/advisers/my PI that it doesn't matter where you get your PhD, but who you work with and the quality of your thesis.

has anyone else applied to sloan kettering and not heard back yet? also, any idea when NYU Sackler will send invites? the wait is killing me!!!

I have a feeling that you're going to have this problem a lot. Be prepared to reject a lot of invites. You applied to 18 schools and there are really only 6 weekends (Jane-mid Feb) for interviews....

It seems like all of the rejections to sloan kettering went out on the 16th and the interview invites on the 17th. Has anybody else not heard back from them? I'm wondering if this means that I'm "waitlisted" as in if not enough people accept the interview I might get one?

Another question that I've been wondering...is there a difference between applying to weill cornell and sloan kettering? Because when you go on the weill cornell website it says on the top "a unique partnership between SK institute and will cornell medical college" I dont know if i should have applied to weill cornell as well but i thought it was the same....

yeah...so is the conclusion that instead of accepting the interview, we should wait to respond if we think we might hear back soon from a school that we like better?

Really? Cool! You should do the signature thing so people can see what schools you applied to and whatnot. I'm really nervous about SK, I'm really hoping for an interview. So far I haven't heard anything back but I noticed that three people got interviews and three people got rejected. I'm actually super nervous because I thought my SOP was one of my strong points but for the SK app they put a limit on the number of characters so I had to cut it down to less than half of what I wrote for the other schools!
