  1. Agreed that 700 is a lot of applicants. Also agree that not all applicants are well qualified. I can't tell you that what is on EdFind is current or accurate, but I can tell you I have a pretty good idea of the faculty member who told an entire class of us how many applicants they received. Best of luck to everyone - cheers!
  2. I don't mean to add any nervousness - sorry! I understand there were between 4-500 applicants to Pacific this year. Oregon is a popular spot, it turns out . As for funding, I don't know/haven't heard anything about funding, and I hear a lot of things...
  3. I was waitlisted at Pacific and I don't think there will be any movement until Portland State sends out notification (I know at least 6 people at PSU who were accepted into Pacific's 35 person cohort and also applied at Portland State). I'm a postbac at PSU and one of the professors on the committee said there were 700 applications this year. So that could be the reason for delay. That's alotta people, yo.
  4. Okay, girl. Here's the thing, you need a reset. I am assuming that you are a true sophomore and have just begun to really dig into your classes. I was a high school teacher and did very well earning my degree the first time around. I decided to become and slp and it is a lot harder than I thought it would be. Study in a different way, visit your profs during their office hours and get all the help you can get. Just because you don't get it the first time doesn't mean you can't get it at all. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and walk back into the game. If nothing else, it will be a great perk on your SOP in the end. There are a ton of things that can make you a viable candidate. The thing is if you love it, it's for you. You can find a way. If, on the other hand, if it's a combination of not enjoying what you're studying with not doing well in class - that's different. Follow your heart.
