No clue. Looking at the results page, and judging by the ratio of UW Madison rejections to wait list notifications posted, there are well over 100 people on the Madison wait list. But if I had to guess, I'd say there are more like 30. But okay, here's one reason Madison might have such a long wait list: A *lot* of people end up turning down Madison. But that would mean, of course that in fact Madison does actually accept more than just a few people off their wait list.

Unfortunately, yes, I'd expect it will drop them. Russ is arguably the biggest name there. Certainly one of the biggest names at their department. But it's especially relevant for people doing ethics & meta-ethics.

Columbia and Austin Texas have not sent out any notifications at all (offers, wait lists, or rejections) as far as I know. And I think that's true of Princeton, Rutgers, Stanford, and a few others.

I kinda like how this thread has become solely a place to discuss whether it's right or wrong to post the letters, as opposed to a place where we actually post the letters.

My friend, kvetching is essentially the point of this thread! No apology necessary! Besides, this admissions process is enough to make anyone bitter.

In lieu of an actual "up" vote: Yes, we all deserve a drink. Potentially dangerous drinking game: one drink for every rejection. I might be in trouble here...
