  1. Hmm, I'm not sure if they have another interview date. I was given only one when I received my interview offer (and it's this Thursday :x) There are 20 kids interviewing (including me, I think). If they have another interview date, maybe they are waiting to see how this first interview goes. If anything, you could email to ask if all the invites have been sent, but I say, stay positive!
  2. They asked me how well I understood theoretical physics. I said I had a theoretical degree in physics. They said welcome aboard.

  3. I heard back second week of December, around the 16th? The program I'm interviewing for is the Biomedical Sciences
  4. It's also open to permanent residents, if that applies to you!
  5. Are you still in college, if you don't mind my asking? For back-up plans, if you're willing to move to the Washington D.C. area, I would HIGHLY recommend applying to the NIH Postbaccalaureate IRTA Program, or even if you're only a year out of college (you're eligible for up to 2 years out of college, I believe). I'm currently working at the NIH and I can vouch for how great the opportunity is here, plus you get full-time (mostly) independent research experience if you haven't already, and there's a lot to choose from. If you're interested (or anyone else who's interested), pm me and I can talk to you more about it. If you're already in a postbac program or aren't interested, just ignore my post haha
  6. Yup! But I'm with the Biomedical Sciences program, and the interview is in two days! Are you also interviewing for Biomed at OSU?
  7. Sigh, I know adcoms probably just got back to work and all, and I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I still can't help feeling anxious. When would be "too soon" to start emailing administration about interviews? I know one of the programs I applied for at UCSD has one interview weekend coming up in 3 weeks, and a second interview weekend for the same program about 2 weeks after, and one of my friends has already heard back from that program before Christmas (I've seen a few interviews on the results page, too), so not sure if I should start panciking since UCSD is my top choice D:
  8. Psh, I think location is a perfectly legitimate criteria to base your grad school choices on - you're gonna be there for ~5(+) years! However, I'm the opposite of you, I want to put 3000 miles between me and my family and go to Cali for school haha
  9. Congrats!! That's a great program! My sister went to Brandeis and I went to school in Boston - how much does location matter to you? Brandeis is in the middle of nowhere outside of Boston :s :x That would also be something to consider if you're going to travel to interview as well since it's not very accessible to the airport or the T (which is the subway system in Boston)
  10. I think you guys still have a lot of time, so don't get discouraged yet!
  11. I would give you an upvote but nooo I used all mine for today CONGRATS ON INTERVIEWS AND GRADUATING!!!!
  12. Ah true, I forgot it's through DMS From just scanning the results page, it seems like they sent the majority of the reported ones yesterday and today? Hopefully there'll be more before the break!
  13. I've seen a a couple on the results page already, not sure for what track or program though
  14. Do you know if they'll also send out rejections?
  15. Yeah, I don't usually check my email too much or expect emails after office hours, so when I got that email saying I got an interview, I was super (and pleasantly) surprised
  16. I think it depends on who's sending them out. I got my Emory interview invite timestamped at 8PM ish, but that might have been because the professor who emailed me was at an international conference and it might've been "normal" hours for him wherever he was.
  17. Hmmm, I just checked my application to see if I had the same status, but it just says "Complete." I'm not sure how to interpret your application status :\ If it says reviewed, then they probably looked at it but haven't made a decision yet. You still have a lot of time, so I don't think you should worry about it yet! Edit: I also just checked the results page and it doesn't seem like anyone's heard from Scripps yet either, if anything, you're probably in a better boat than me!
  18. I haven't been in this situation, but I would go with the last option, especially if you're on pretty friendly terms with the POI's. I'd email the POI's and ask them to see which interview they would prefer to see me at or if they had an opinion on what the differences are between the two programs (if there are any) and what their suggestion would be. Otherwise, adcom would probably have better insight. Sorry if I was of little help :x Congrats btw! ?
  19. I submitted all of mine before Thanksgiving (mainly because I was traveling and didn't want to stress about them while I was home). I think the earliest I submitted was on the 22nd of November
  20. Just got an interview offer from Ohio State University! Their interview date is so early, though, January 8th-10th
  21. I've heard back from the Molecular and Systems Pharmacology program, and I've been stalking the admissions results page, it seems like each program within GDBBS is sending them out on their own schedule?
