Do you mean on or off campus? There's LGBT housing on campus, and you can create any house you want off campus, so there's no such thing as housing off campus that isn't LGBT friendly.

Garyon I actually work in the office that handles off campus housing. Feel free to PM me and I can give you a TON of information. Juiceboxrampage: I don't think there are any co-ops around here. There's plenty of feminist and LGBT happenings. A huge amount of the population is public school kids from New York city so the atmosphere is very liberal. Biking is probably fine, we just have so much snow here it's not the most reliable transportation. That being said, one of my friends here is an avid biker and does so all the time.

I still haven't heard anything, I checked the email and the site. If I don't hear anything by Monday, should I email/call them?

Northeastern's application deadline was pretty late, I'd be surprised to hear from them this early in the process.

I am an undergrad at Stony that takes grad classes. I live off campus and my rent is $550 a month + utilities. The area isn't too bad; there's a lot of great food and it's small-town-y but has a mall and movies and stuff. The closeness to NYC is definitely a plus. I don't know, I have no money and no parental financial support but I've been fine here.

I got Boulder! Funding and everything. It was a great fit but I'm still freaking out.

I'm applying to the masters. It's my only masters I'm applying to and largely my back up.

I figured I should share where I ended up applying to a masters to as it might be helpful for other. Umass Boston has a great MA that tuition waved, most likely paid, and had a strong concentration in medical sociology. It's a relief to have found it and the deadline is March!

Medical soc, gender, and childhood/identity formation/social psych (all kind of the same roll in my research)

Hello all! I'd like to apply to a couple of masters programs, largely as back up. I am pretty picky, as I have some full time work lined up in case I don't get into a PhD also, which may end up being preferable to a masters. So I'm looking for a program that does not have a PhD program attached to the school (so that I'm more likely to be funded, I have no money) in a fairly metropolitan area. My research is in identity formation in pediatrics starting with gender. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
