  1. is determined to make a school decision by the end of this week!

  2. I've heard back from University of Centra Florida and Texas A&M. I'm still waiting to hear from University of Florida and University of Texas but my fiance has heard back from University of Florida and the two I heard from. We've both gotten all acceptances so far but I really want to hear back from all schools so I can make an informed decision!
  3. Hm, I guess it would depend on the area and the stipend. My fiance got a generous stipend ($1400/month) plus $23,000 the first year. We're going to be moving to a much cheaper town with lower rent and food costs from the city we live in now. I feel as though this will be more than enough to support us both. However, we haven't thrown a baby in to the mix. Good luck!!
  4. My fiance just went to a university visit where they paid for everything. Please note that even though they are paying for your hotel, you might have a roommate. We knew he was going to be sharing his room so we decided that if I went, he would at least offer/tell them that he was going to pay for his own since his fiance would be coming. I don't think it's appropriate for your fiance to come if you are going to be sharing but if you have your own room, that should be fine. As for the classes and dinners and whatnot, obviously your fiance wouldn't attend. They had breakfast, lunch and dinner with my fiance so I would have had to keep myself occupied from 7 am to about 8pm each day. I decided not to go because I thought it would distract him and I didn't want to impose. Hope that helps a little.
  5. I applied for their Masters of Accounting program in November and still haven't heard anything from them. My fiance applied for their Mechanical Engineering MS/PhD program and hasn't heard anything either. I hope they send something soon! It's getting close April!
  6. I attend there now for my undergraduate in accounting. I've been accepted to their Masters program for Accounting and know several students who have been accepted to graduate programs. Have you gotten any financial aid offers yet? None of us have. I don't think I'll attend if they don't offer anything.
  7. Hello, My fiance and I both applied to the same four school semesters for our Masters. Thus far, we've both been accepted to the same two, which is great. My question is, two schools that have contacted him, have asked him to switch to a PhD program instead of a Masters in Mechanical Engineering. He has a 3.9 GPA and got a 780 Quant score. Why do they keep asking him to "upgrade" to a PhD? If he doesn't want to, what should he say? Originally, he wanted to do a PhD so it's great that he still may have the option but I also don't want him to still be stuck in school, especially as we'll both be struggling to pay as is. Secondly, he's begun getting some financial aid offers. I haven't received any yet. My major is Accounting. We're both Honors students and I have relevant work experience and tons of leadership/community involvement. Is it me or does it seem like the science majors get a lot more funding? Can I hope to get some similar offers or no?
