  1. Hello new and returning friends, Glad to see a thread has been started for this year. The forum was a lifeline for me during the process last season and it will be nice to have a community to talk to again. I'm keeping it low key for this time around and only applying to two, maybe three schools. DePaul, Brown, and either Washington University in St. Louis (WashU) or Boston. I was also thinking about University of Texas Austin (UTA) but they always seem to be one of the first schools crossed off my list for some reason. Good luck to all and I'm looking forward to reading the updates.
  2. That's wonderful @clementiney!! Congrats!
  3. @bluebane- I got a letter in the mail from Jason Beck offering to be added to the wait list. No details about where on the list though
  4. Applied: Yale, Brown, CMU, UCI, OU, DePaul Interviewed with UCI, FSU, Brown, CMU and OU, DePaul Formal rejections from: Yale, Brown Assumed rejections from: CMU, OU, UCI Just got word that I was wait listed at DePaul. Will definitely accept if offered. I was bummed about UCI but alas, I guess it wasn't in the cards. CMU would have been nice but I was completely turned off by the messy interview process and how they handled it. The other schools I met with at URTA were sort of meh. I feel good about the process though and am definitely better equipped to apply again if DePaul doesn't come through. Especially since there are several schools I didn't apply to this year because they weren't recruiting or the application fee piggy bank ran dry. I don't know if I'll do URTA though.
  5. Hope it went well @Bluebane! And welcome to the new friends. I'm thinking shouldn't be much longer for DePaul. The site says status letters will be communicated in writing mid-March with mid-April response date. When I asked at my interview they said it would go out in "about a month", and that was Feb. 14. I'm assuming they will be mailed via post. I'm very curious about UCI. Last I heard was she would be in touch soon, but that was right after URTA and it's been nothing but silence since. Has anyone heard anything? I feel like I'm waiting for them to drop the ax at this point.
  6. There were 3 in Chicago for DePaul, including me. It was a really nice day. Intense, like you said, but I had a good time with the exercise. Back to the waiting game.
  7. Good luck with it all, Greddy! Same here with Brown. Bluebane, Just out of curiosity, how many people were at your DePaul callback?
  8. Thanks for the advice! I'm a little nervous about it but I'm super excited. Same goes for me with DePaul being the program I feel is the most perfect fit. I've also heard about their lack of funding which is really unfortunate. Ain't that always the way?
  9. I didn't apply to UCSD but did have the CMU Skype interview on Friday as well. Not sure if I was into it or not. Of all the interviews so far that one certainly was the most awkward. He didn't seem to like my statement of purpose, and acted like he was going through the motions. Maybe it was because it was on Skype, or because of the massive rescheduling they had to do, but I'm definitely not feeling it. Is anyone else interviewing with DePaul?
  10. Showed up to my CMU interview. The place was slithering with high school seniors all auditioning for the multiple schools that were there. No one I talked to knew where I was to go, so I spent about 40 minutes wandering until I found the CMU table. Apparently the directing interviews were cancelled, but again, no one was really sure. I was given the contact number for a coordinator and even she wasn't 100% sure. Bluebane, how did you fare?
  11. I did apply to Indiana, sorry I left that out. I didn't get an interview though. I thought a lot about FSU but ultimately wasn't interested. I'm a native Floridian, and though the program is strong, I'd rather live in Athens, Ohio than Tallahassee . UCLA's financial aid leaves something to be desired. And totally agree about CalArts. They sent an email right after I sent my packet asking me to apply using their application. I didn't want to go bad enough to shell out the $90. Does anyone else find Sara from URTA to be grating, rude, and unprofessional? My interview at CMU is at 11:30 on Monday 2/2
  12. Yeah, I wanted to try to minimize my travel time as much as possible. I only applied to UCI, Temple, and OU at URTA. And luckily my times are spread out. Who is everyone else interviewing with?
  13. Whooooo! It's going to be a busy day. Especially with the Brown interview at a different hotel
  14. I've already refreshed my inbox about 50 times today...
  15. I doubt they mind if you email the admissions office directly and not a professor. The confirmation email I got from DePaul after I submitted my application says to contact them with any questions or concerns. It also says they will give at least two weeks notice before the interview. For me that means I might not know for a few more weeks since the Chicago interviews are Feb.14.
