Yup. 'Wait until the last minute to apply. Unforseen occurrence happens then sit looking puzzled at the last minute'.If I get an interview at Yale, I'm going to test your theory and take the last train to New Haven that would get me there on time and pray that the train doesn't break down. But if it does maybe I can believe I had no control over the situation.
We are applying for an MFA and Yale is one of the top programs in the country. In honest opinion there should certainly be healthy criticism. Isn't that what is to be expected at the MFA level. I personally don't believe applying last minute is bad. Two years ago my girlfriend was accepted into Columbia's masters journalism program and she applied an hour before the deadline and she has even said how she almost missed the "chance" Let's lighten up though everyone! Its almost over!
Understandable. I created a mental deadline which was January 1st and stuck to it. I told recommenders that this was the deadline as well. Everyone has different circumstances, which I believe. Its just interesting to see how many people dream of going to this school but missed the deadline if it were not for the extention.
