  1. Your list of schools is reasonable for your profile. When you apply to Carnegie Mellon joint statistics/machine learning, you can apply through the statistics department or the machine learning department. If you apply through the statistics department, you have the option of checking a box which allows you to be considered for both statistics and joint statistics/machine learning (I think it costs ~10 extra dollars application fee to check this box). I think you have a similar option of being considered for solely the machine learning department if you apply through the computer science application portal.

  3. Congratulations! Glad it worked out!
  4. Hello JSM_InspiredMe, This post from two years ago has some discussion of waitlist experiences that might be helpful. Good luck!
  5. MLHopeful, I was accepted to Columbia as well. I agree that it seemed odd that there was no mention of a visit day. I just sent an email asking about it.
  6. I haven't heard anything from Berkeley either.
  7. Congratulations MLHopeful!
  8. Thanks footballman2399. Best of luck to you as well! 17 applications could mean a lot of travel for visit days.
  9. Congratulations, footballman2399!
  10. Just decided to check the Harvard admissions portal on a whim. Turns out they updated my status yesterday. I've been wait-listed. There was a pdf copy of a letter dated February 3rd. I think official letters have been mailed out. Good luck everyone! Note: This is for statistics.
  11. Sorry to hear, CommonerCoffee, dynamic89, and Anakin. Does this mean they are coming out as we speak? I'm nervously refreshing my inbox every few seconds.
  12. I just found out I have been admitted to Washington PhD in stats too! Turns out the auto-forward on my email was caught up for a couple hours.
  13. Congratulations WeezyF!
