  1. I submitted mine on 12/19. Good luck!
  2. I was really worried about my undergrad academics as well - 3.16 cumulative GPA / 2.7 major GPA (BA Integrative Biology) and did not have a letter of rec from an academic source. Was I sure surprised when I heard back from my first choice school (UW Evans) - an acceptance with a good amount of funding! I did do reasonably well on the GRE - 161 V, 162 Q, 4.5 W and had gained some experience with student organizations while in undergrad and am currently in AmeriCorps (I applied with not even a year of full time work experience). I'm SURE your work experience will add a lot to your application. Hopefully this makes you feel better about your chances to not only get in, but get funding
  3. Congrats to all of you! I got an email too - with funding as well! I was also super surprised since I had only turned in my app 3 weeks prior and was even surprised that I got a merit scholarship since my academics in undergrad were not very strong and I did not have an academic LOR - perhaps I made up for it with my GRE scores, resume, and SOP? I did not do Peace Corps but am currently serving in AmeriCorps. I actually started this thread in Waiting It Out - DanP - It seems like maybe the international applicants may be getting info about funding separately? freeverse commented in the thread in the link above also got in as an international applicant and did not hear back about funding but it seems weird that the rest of us who heard back got funding. Nocho - I will be accepting as well! I'm not bothering to wait to hear back from any other schools since Evans was my first choice and the funding makes my choice even easier!
  4. Ahh I just discovered the Results Search! http://thegradcafe.com/survey/index.php I guess UW decided to release quite a few acceptances before the application deadline... And thank you everyone for your reassurance!
  5. I don't think it's a big deal! Especially if you had other people read it and it seemed fine to them!
  6. I received a mailed letter from the University of Oregon today that said "I am pleased... you have applied" and gave me some basic information like my ID number and websites to get more information while I wait for the decision. I feel like if I'm getting something in the mail it should be big news! My family was even waiting for me to open it and everything.
  7. Congrats! It makes me feel better that someone else has heard back too. Hopefully you will hear back about getting some funding! I turned in my application only three weeks ago... Part of the reason I was so surprised.
  8. Is it uncommon to hear back from a school before the application deadline? I heard back from UW for their MPA program and they also offered me a scholarship. I was kind of surprised and feel like I'm being super paranoid thinking that this might be a glitch since their application deadline isn't until next week and on the website it says that decisions will come out around mid-March. Has anyone known of other people getting accepted before the deadline?
