I agree. Especially if they said they would. I guess its always possible they were too busy to respond or read my email. However if they didnt want to provide me a recommendation they could of just said that, I'm an adult I can take it.

No one declined. But I wasn't able to get any teachers, I had to go with peers. 2 teachers who said they'd do it no longer had working email addresses and the other never responded to my email asking if shes still willing. So I'm hoping those aren't really influential...

This was the weakest part of my app. My ability to get recommendations was pretty difficult.

Hey thanks I really appreciate it. I tend to use loaded materials/imagery in my work. Mostly because I have a connection to the objects I am using. Tread is made up of items and objects from my past, that were hard for me to let go of due to their significance. Instead of symbolically destroying them, I figured I'd use them in my work. My process engages and helps me sort out issues I'm dealing with at the time. The materials I use help viewers connect emotionally to my work, instead of just being 100% process based. Now that I say this, I should of included it in my statement. Dammit. I did have a couple similar pieces shown in NYC. But this piece I have not shown yet. But you could of seen those pieces at Greenpoint Gallery, Reverse Space or at my Cooper Union Senior show, if you've ever been to any of those.

OH MAN. I just got a call from Columbia. I answered the phone and once she said who it was I quickly remembered I didn't apply to Columbia, and they were looking for Teach America. Dammit grad school gods.
