so the same day you posted this I decided to look into the program and apply to it. Just wanted to know which location you applied to (I applied to Mt Sinai)? If you have received word from the program yet? If not do you know around when we should hear back from them? Feel free to PM if you do not want to post on this thread. Thanks!

I only say that because the website says each site only accepts about 8 students. But good luck! Im sure you got this

I never heard of the program until you just mentioned it. Seems great, a long shot (as little chances as a PhD program), but great! Have you applied?

Program is clinical... yes my email from the chair of the department... i'm honestly not sure about calling them... interview weekend is 2/5-2/7

Not it was an email from the chair of the psychological and brain sciences dept. following a skype interview I had with him.

Of the 5 I applied to I only heard from one which was a generic rejection letter from NYU

Talked to my POI, invites have been sent out already for UCLA

Completely agree. A would say more than half of the PhD students at my Undergrad school said they had to apply 2-3 cycles before getting accepted. The PhD student I worked with directly suggested I apply to at least 5 clinical programs and then some cognitive/behavioral neuroscience programs because of the low chances of getting into clinical programs ( I have a cognitive neuroscience interest). Of the 11 schools I applied to I only received one invite (IU Bloomington) so I am freaking out hoping I do not screw up the interview.

Yes they have. Reached out to my POI via email and he sent a pretty nice email back about the committee wanting students with more stat background ( I only have one basic stat course) so I was rejected. Basically the email said even though they didn't accept me he thinks I will do well in any program. Hopefully he's right lol.

Still waiting to hear back from UCLA ( I think I might email my POI tomorrow to get an update)... I believe UCSD/SDSU sent all their invites out (I applied there as well)... The only interview I have gotten thus far Is IU Bloomington... all three were for the clinical area

Got my first interview invite for IU Bloomington!

I had a pre- interview via skype with the chair of the psychological and brain science dept. (also my POI) He said formal interviews will be sent out soon after faculty meet and vote on students they are interested in. Skype/ phone interviews were conducted to get a feel for the student and whether their interests align with POI's.

Not sure about the Social area, but I was invited for a skype pre-interview about a week ago by the chair of the psychological and brain science department (which does include the social area). However, I applied for a dual program in both clinical and cognitive science. He said that the interview was to get a better feel for students whose cv caught their attention, and they will soon send out formal interview invites.
