  3. I really need help deciding between the health management and policy program at the University of Michigan and the one at UNC Chapel Hill. I live on the East Coast so you and she would be closer to home but I don't want to pass of the University of Michigan if it is a better choice.... I also don't want to sacrifice not being able to see my family for two years if they are equally as good program. Can someone please tell me anything that they know about the soup programs so that I can make a decision??? I'm panicking because the deadline is approaching fast..
  4. If I got waitlisted for Emory do I have a chance at getting into UNC or GWU ? .....any input would be appreciated.. Just sick of not knowing!
  5. If I got waitlisted for Emory do I have a chance at getting into UNC or GWU ?
  6. If other people have heard from programs I applied for ( UNC health management and policy) and( GWU health policy) does that mean that I didn't get in?
  7. I wanted to make a thread strictly for health management and policy programs....any insight on unc, University of Michigan , Emory and GWU would be great. Has anyone heard back from unc or GWU ?
  8. Hello everyone, I haven't heard back from UNC's health policy and management program, has anyone else? Also I have heard that people that attend UNC's HMP program have trouble finding jobs compared to U of M. Is this true???
  9. I'm learning a new language to pass time....it's been really productive and somewhat of a distraction from email checking
  10. I was invited to an interview at UMich and rejected from John Hopkins ....wich is fine since Umich is #1 in health management anyway. I applied around December 15th.

  16. Hey everyone, So I was very excited to finally received a decision today but it turned out to be not much of a decision, I was wait listed for Emory University. What do you think my chances are of getting admitted? At this point I don't know how to feel. Anyone else wait listed?
  17. Treating grad school like a 9-to-5 that actually might work. I will try definitely try that but it would take a lot of discipline. I like to be able to separate school life from my social life so I think that will help a lot. I have been to that are Arboretum and it is really beautiful I could see myself spending a lot of time they are reading. I'm glad to hear that while working and attending class there is still hope for a social life!
  18. Wow ...okay thanks a lot that's good to know. It's looking like University of Michigan is the best option for health management and policy. Congratulations on getting accepted there, by the way.
  19. Thank you! That's always reassuring to hear. Also, congratulations on GWU....I applied there as well so I'm hoping to hear back soon
  20. Congratulations on getting admitted to GWU ! D.C. would be good for political connections and it's definitely a plus to be closer to home for me at least. To find rankings for different fields you just type " best ( insert concentration ) program" into google and the U.S. News rankings report should be one of the first few options. I was told not to base my choice strictly off of the rankings but they are there for a reason.
  21. That's good to hear ....it must be ranked # 1 for health care management programs by u.s. News for a reason ! Thank you That's good to hear ....it must be ranked # 1 for health care management programs by u.s. News for a reason ! Thank you. Do you know what it is like to live in Ann Arbor as a graduate student? I would like to have somewhat of a social life outside of the program...if possible with working and attending classes.
  22. In my routine obsessive checking of my email/ application status on numerous websites....a thought popped into my head. What if I end up getting accepted to MULTIPLE schools? Has anyone heard any stories or had any personal experience at any of the following schools that could help me decide? Specifically in health management and policy but any opinions/ thoughts will help! University of Michigan UNC John's Hopkins Emory George Washington University
  23. Awesome, congratulations! I hope that the process goes as well for me! I have a 3.47 GPA with GRE scores that say I can't read and should head back to middle school to give math another try, below 50%. I am very passionate in my goals in public help so I hope that will help me too.
  24. I only applied to 5 schools including George Washington which I still have not heard back from. I applied to the mph in health management and policy program. The other schools that I applied to are : University of Michigan , Unc, Emory and Johns Hopkins.
