Thanks for doing that - Good to know! From their website: "Students must be admitted to one of the Program's four home departments in order to gain admission or fellowship support in the Science Studies Program." So, I guess we passed the first step..

That's a good question. I have no idea. I, too, asked to be considered in my app as my interests are (sort of) related, and I thought it might increase my chances of getting accepted (lol). Maybe those who are admitted are given a choice between programs? I am not sure if it is "separate," or if those in the SOC program just enroll in science studies courses.. It's also possible that admissions are separate and we might be hearing from both?

I got an e-mail from the Dean of the Graduate Division late last Friday (around midnight PST) congratulating me on my acceptance and a link to the application site to accept/decline their offer.. I have yet to hear anything directly from the department, though.

Stay on your toes.. The Grad App Gods are listening. I just posted in here yesterday as I hadn't heard from any programs, and sure enough, I got an acceptance e-mail last night at midnight and one rejection letter at 4 AM.

Hang in there I'm in the same boat.. No rejections (yet), but have yet to hear anything from the five programs I applied to. Hopefully we hear from UCSD this coming week!

Same here. Crickets. According to the results page, all but one program that I applied to has already sent out acceptances and/or interview invites. Too soon to give up all hope at this point, but I'm not terribly optimistic either.

I figured it would be later this month because the UCSD deadline was January 8th, when other UCs were early/mid December.

Not accepted by any programs (yet?), but I have 2 pubs under review (first author on both) and 2 presentations/conferences.. Clueless91 is right though, I think. How well you (and your interests) "fit" in the program is pretty important.

I think it was fake. Super low GRE scores and dumb comment about promising to twerk..

Wondering the same.. Appears that one person got an acceptance e-mail today. Some of us are probably on the "bubble" until people start to accept/reject offers

Congrats on the acceptances and best of luck to you all! Do you guys think it's safe to assume that no invite to visit/interview for Irvine = rejection?
