  1. Hi Xor, As per the latest update on FedEx tracking, I should receive the package by today evening. Keeping my fingers crossed ☺. Goodluck with your house hunt. I earnestly hope something really opens up soon for you. All the best
  2. Hi Sreyb, it's a good thing that you already have working plans for housing! Don't you worry, the I-20 will arrive in time. I was told it never takes more than 5 days to a week no matter your location in the world. Mine took about 4 days to arrive. Good luck!
  3. Hi all, Congrats to all of you for admission. And I am extremely sorry for not replying early. I am an international student and have not yet received my I20. So nervous about that. Hope to finally have it next week. Btw I almost finalized on the housing. I am living off campus in the Rosemary Lane with a roommate who has been staying there for a while and who is also from my city. Not much idea abt the neighbourhood though except that it is close to the university.
  4. Hi All, I didn't see any thread for Notre Dame. So, I thought of creating a new one . I'll be a doctoral student in Computer Science and Engineering. Anybody joining Notre Dame this Fall? Maybe , we can use this forum to discuss stuffs like housing, recreation, programs etc. Feel free to post.
  5. Nope, I didn't contact them. Still no news.
  6. Hii all, I applied for Phd in Computer Science in December. Haven't heard back yet
  7. Hopefully, we would hear from them soon
  8. I still haven't heard back from them. If I ask them, they say that the decision is yet to be finalized
  9. Still no news from them. It's freaking me out
  10. I checked the website. Nothing is posted. My application got completed in the 1st week of January. What do I do? :'( Also, I didn't get interviewed by my POI. I had contacted him before applying (he encouraged me to apply) and we did have some frequent correspondences. Would it be right to ask someone abt the status?
  11. Hello, I had applied to Northeastern sometimes back in December. The application was completed on Jan 5th. Haven't heard back from them yet. Does anyone have a similar experience? Should I call them up and check?
  12. Ya true, but the thing is she used to reply quite swiftly before the interview...The waiting is almost killing me. I am not hoping much for this as well, since they generally accept 9 to 15% of students who applied. Did you have interviews for all the programs that you were accepted?
  13. I think the interview didn't went that well and probably, it seemed like he was not convinced about my decisions for phD. He said once that he understands that it's been long since I published my papers and that I have been working for the past 5 yrs. And thereafter, he asked me a question about my current work. There were also many times I felt I could have said something in a better way, but somehow didn't (it was my first interview and I was nervous like hell). Also, she didn't switch on the video. Is it normal? Basically, I am just freaking out
  14. Hi Guys, I had an interview (not really great) yesterday from a really great university that I hope admits me. The professor was super friendly and was not any of the POIs I mentioned in my SOP. We almost ran out of time and the professor told me that he would be happy to reply to my queries via email. I sent a thank you note thereafter with some questions and so far, I have not yet received a reply. Does this mean I am rejected?? I am really confused and heart broken at the same time.
  15. Even, I am thinking about that. I have 2 research papers (one IEEE and another journal), GPA 3.5+, 4 and half years of work experience. Only low point might be my GRE which is 308. Also, I thought most of the PhD programs are funded. I was really hopeful. But is it possible to be admitted without funding? How often does it happen? Udel and UNLdoes this for sure. Its better to be rejected right away than accepted this way
  16. Hi All, I received an acceptance letter for PhD degree in Computer Science from UDel but no financial aid. Upon asking, whether there is a possibility of aid, the university told me that they would not be providing any aid. I am at a loss. I am an internationa student and how does one study for PhD without any funding!!! Please help Last time, this same thing happened with UNL and I had to defer my application to Fall 2015.
  17. I feel so confused. Hope it turns out that way. Keeping my fingers crossed.
  18. Hii, I mailed them back and they said that there would not be any interview. But that would not "negatively" impact my application. However, I heard that they had provided some slots to those who missed in the first place. I was not one of them.
  19. The slots that were sent to me were filled up. I guess they sent the invites to those slots to others as well. Should I be worried if I am not invited again? Also, how important are these Skype interviews?
  20. Thanks a lot for the reply, friend. I have emailed the Grad office and they reiterated that it would not affect the decision in any way. However, there might not be any interviews as they do not have slots. Am I being waitlisted? Also, they seem to have a rolling admission system. Am so confused and worried.
  21. Hi All, I received an email from Indiana University stating that I will be interviewed. They also sent me an excel sheet with possible timings. But after I replied to that with they sent a note that the slots were already filled up and there are no near possible dates for the interview. I am an International student and this is a first of a kind experience. I am very crestfallen to have missed the opportunity. The Graduate office said that this would not be impacting the decision taken. However, I am a bit worried. Does anyone of you have a similar experience? Will I be rejected admission right away. IUB is my dream school and I was so looking forward to it. Please suggest...
