Seriously, I'm going crazy here constantly checking my email >_<
-
Congrats!! This is such great news! Hoping all you other alternates out there find out soon too!

Another day of waiting over....each time it gets closer to a previous year's notification date, I get my hopes too high :/
-
I thought today would be the day....but it wasn't. T_T How much longer must we endure this torture? x__x
-
My prediction is that Taiwan will notify either this week or sometime next week according to past notification dates...but then again the ETA program has expanded...from 47 to 73 spots...so maybe they'll notify later....ahh this is driving me nuts! I always get asked each day whether I've heard back yet! Whether its my mom, housemates, professors, coworkers, friends...sigh, the anxiety >.<

WHAT I NEED TO KNOW
-
I doubt we'll all be notified by the end of March There's still many countries left to notify and some don't notify till the end of May...unless somehow Fulbright has pushed countries to go through applications a lot faster...
-
I can't stress enough how supportive and caring this group is!! Thank you Chris and RosyPosy Definitely made me laugh!
-
Just found out I didn't get accepted into another program I applied to... Volunteers in Asia. Really really really hope I get the Fulbright. If not, I'm not sure what I'll do....
-
Waiting anxiously for Taiwan as well! I have finals this week and this has not been good for keeping up with studying...
-
Making me wonder if there are people on there messing around w/the spreadsheet....
-
I sent it last night at 8:20pm Pacific Time! So about 14 hours ago.

So I emailed Jonathan Akeley, the Senior Programs Officer for East Asia-Pacific. This is what he said to me: "Dear Amanda, It's not possible to predict when notifications for a particular country will go out, but in previous years Taiwan notifications have usually been sent in early April. Sincerely, Jonathan" Not very helpful I know, but this probably means the staff in Taiwan is still looking applications over. Really hoping they still come out earlier this year...
-
Thank you so much Rosyposy68! I will definitely message you if that is the case! Belgium and Luxembourg gives me hope that we'll all hear back earlier than last year, so fingers crossed! I'm on the quarter system so I have finals next week...it'd be such a stress reliever if I found out then!

Hey everyone! While anxiously waiting for a notification from Fulbright, Ive been waiting to hear back from Volunteers in Asia as well. I'm scared that their notifications won't coincide....Fulbright is my first choice but its very likely I will hear later from them than VIA, and VIA only gives 3 days to decide once notified...would it be unprofessional of me to ask for an extension on timeif I get accepted? Good luck to everyone this week!

Uh I meant this question -> Or are they still likely processing through them / working through a grace period? Looks like they're still processing.
-
Check out what Medievalist said, should answer your question

Don't worry! They email you if they don't get your transcript, so no email means you're fine

You can look through the tabs in this google doc. https://docs.google.com/a/ucsc.edu/spreadsheets/d/1AlU2xDiiVhQjK3quPy6qXJuhgXYghzzG8L4YNT0unX0/edit#gid=536144359

I have no idea, but that's a nice thought. I wouldn't want to have the same ranking throughout each committee, unless I was high up for each one.... >.<

Wait, now I'm slightly freaking out...I'm graduating this June but on my school portal it says my expected graduation term is Fall 2015!! Is this bad? Should I call them to let them know? D: I'm not sure if it says it on my official transcript, but when I looked at my unofficial one it didn't say anything about graduation.

Hi everyone! I'm an ETA Taiwan finalist. I'm so nervous but excited at the same time! I wasn't sure if I was a strong candidate or not, especially after reading some example statements from current Fulbrighters. But I guess I did okay to get this far! Good luck to everyone! The best and most we can do is have a positive outlook and wait
