Just out of curiosity, has anyone gotten a notification from a coordinator about this yet? I'm curious what terms they put it in.

I think it's pretty clear: our priorities involve blowing up people in other countries, not trying to understand and get along with them.

Yeah, I realize not everyone has the luxury of having anything saved and I shouldn't whine about it. But it took a long time to save all that. ;-)

If I could at least check my email on a regular basis this would make me feel slightly less insane. I basically went ahead and made plans. In the worst case I'll spend all my savings. Which sucks, because it would've been nice to graduate with a few thousand dollars squirreled away ... or, you know, to move back to the US with a few thousand bucks to get me through that last year or two. But we can't have everything.

Feel you there. I'm currently out of the country in a first research phase and need to commit to how long I'll be here and exactly when I'll go back to the US to deal with university administrative stuff and see parents (not in the same city, either). (I can't even check my email consistently, so ... gulp.) We're all in the same boat. So much good luck and sympathy to you - going through major life changes is sucky at the best of times, and when you're trying to make decisions contingent on information you don't have ... argh. Can you sublet for a month to buy some time? Hugs all around, and good luck all around.

Email from university coordinator. No idea about requirements.

Apparently we got notified just about last of almost anyone, although that's probably the school's administration's fault - my email from last year is dated May 7.

Last year's was the first week of May, so don't hold your breath yet. ;-) Good luck!

Seconding the round of congrats. Still have heard nothing, although a colleague in my department got a rejection an hour ago. I've been assuming I was rejected anyway.

Still no news. Slowly going insane. But as I'm on the West Coast and our work day starts a bit later...looks like I just have to stay twitchy for a few more hours and stop succumbing to the feeling that no news is bad news.

Possible bad news: one of my colleagues got notified about an anthro NSF a few days ago. (I didn't apply, so this one is low-stress for me.) Possible good news: they wait to do the rejections because if people turn them down, they move down the list to the top-level alternates. Fingers crossed.
