I'm not sure whether most grad programs would even allow you to defer? You might want to check with them to see if it's an option first. Good luck!

I spoke with Yale directly as I have the same problem as Jaygray (my father wouldn't provide his finances) and they said there is nothing they can do unless I have court documents proving neglect/abuse. so if you don't have that they can only offer you loans.

I was accepted to Columbia about a week and a half ago. I applied last year and remember that they notify admitted students first and I think waitlisted/rejected students later. My guess is you should know sometime this week

Does Hunter accept 20-30 people across all departments? That's a lot less then I thought.

You can do Hunter in two years-it's just that most students end up doing 3 and working part of the time. It's a personal decision I think

finally got a VCU rejection email and offer for the summer program. "There were many applicants who came extremely close in our deliberations, but faculty determined that they were not quite prepared for our program. Countless times we noted, "This applicant just needs the intensive time and critical feedback from the Summer Studio Program to put them over the top." " give me a break

Nothing from VCU here either-and when I emailed I was told we would know this week...but who knows anymore. Ready for rejection anyway but tell me already!

Mine went pretty well too- but it was through Skype so maybe we had different interviewers? They were all really nice (only two interviewers and one alumni)- no unexpected questions or "gotcha" questions at all. Good Luck everyone!

I believe most school have to let you know by April 1, and allow students until the 15th to make decisions

Did everyone hear back from VCU today???? I still haven't heard a thing (good, bad, or this summer program offer)

today is rejection day! no go for UCLA and MIT- oh well!

You should go-its a free program and I believe you also get a stipend. It's one of the most competitive programs and the faculty is amazing! Only downside are the facilities aren't amazing.

I think it went well. Pretty standard questions and the faculty was very warm (two faculty and one alumni- at least for Skype). Be ready to mention a book you read/are reading, talk about process/materials, and all the other standard q's (why hunter, favorite artists...) They didn't ask anything that caught me off guard in any way. Good luck everyone!
