  1. Balls...contacted my POI and didn't get into UMass. Oh well.
  2. Yeah, I'm thinking I should do that. How did you word what you said to your POI? I don't want to see really pushy or anything...
  3. Speaking of absurdity, is your SPIRE still showing applied? It is almost the end of the week and mine is still showing applied.
  4. I think this is just a quote from the results board with a reaction picture as a link (hence "mfw"="my face when").
  5. Seriously. I'm in the same boat re: SPIRE I've checked it at least three times this morning. To make my obsessive checking worse, last year they released decisions on the last Wednesday of February (today) so my obsession has grown!
  6. Yeah I'm hoping that's the case. Is your SPIRE still showing 'applied'? If so, then the remainder of the applicants have probably not been notified yet.
  7. I'm with you on this! I haven't heard anything from UMass and it is giving me so much anxiety! I don't see any posts on the results board either. Did you post on there? Also congrats on UNLV! That's awesome!
  8. Yeah I'm in the same boat. I've heard from schools in England and that's it. But they have rolling admissions so I heard back pretty early from them. I'm dying waiting to hear back from UMass too...SPIRE is still showing applied for me as well. At least your POI was nice enough to notify you unofficially. I really hope it's early next week or I'm going to start developing an ulcer!
  9. I did my undergrad at University of Arizona and loved it. I can answer any questions you have via PM or on the board if you wish. If you're at all interested in applied anthropology, the Bureau of Applied Research in Anthropology is an excellent resource and provides internships to get you some real-world experience before graduation. I was an intern there for a year and then they hired me as research staff after I graduated.
  10. Awesome! Congrats! Can you share any details at all for the rest of us poor saps waiting to hear?
  11. Not to mention that it is courteous to those who are waitlisted. The sooner you accept (or deny) your offer to admittance, the sooner those who are waitlisted will know their fate!
  12. Seems to be back up this morning! Still no decision there though... I'm dyin'!
