I have spent the last year volunteering in a lab. The experience has gotten me a job offer in the lab. It is a great way to get more experience with research. Like the poster above, you just need to find a professor/researcher that is willing to have you. All I did was email labs in my area that I was interested in their research and give them brief information about my background and what I was looking to gain. (like if I wanted to expand my research experience with child, etc.) Those that were interested asked for more information. A Master's degree is another great way to get experience. Both have their pros and cons and money issues.

That is along the lines of what I heard. But applied to the department and not just one area.

I have a friend who is interviewing next week at Kent State. She was contacted the second to last week of January to set up the interview.

Has anyone heard anything about the UGA psychology department? In particular, has anyone heard anything about upcoming changes that would influence new and current students? Has anyone interviewed there for any field? Heard anything about funding? Etc. Thanks.
