  1. Hope exam studying goes well! I just finished the most recent batch, and am on kind of an early spring break - working, but nothing I HAVE to study for or turn in. Oh good, more time for lurking... Am honestly trying to spend that time looking at home design websites, because we're buying a house! Inspection is tomorrow. So that should be a good distraction. Eee! It'll be OK no matter what. Also, Spiesie - I feel you on the phone worries. I had to just start turning it off or leaving it in another room. Hard at first, but felt so much better after a bit.
  2. I don't know that current students check this board, but after all the time I've spent on it, I'll sure check it next year for questions I might be able to help with... Wondering about UM Twin Cities, too... Certainly seems reputable, but it's more costly than other option(s?), and I'm not 100% sure I'd fit well in the culture there. I don't think of myself as being research-oriented, but who knows? Maybe I'd love it if I had a chance to do some. I just don't know if I can justify the cost.
  3. Glad to hear you made it home safe in the slush! I've been home all day - school from home. Which is why I've been on the forum so much. Doing classwork most of the day, but it's so easy to just keep a tab open... Hope all of you have a great night, that anxiety is at a minimum, and that we all practically forget that we're waiting tomorrow...
  4. Probably safe to say that calls aren't coming after 5, right? The blizzard is making a pathetic showing down in the cities. Same in St. Cloud?
  5. "Unhealthy" is relative, amiright? Prolonged anxiety isn't good for you, either, and if a little junk helps... Temporary solution, obviously. But these are extraordinary circumstances.
  6. In our session they were saying that they could help to choose externships that would make sense for schedule, location, or where you want to be after graduation. Sorry you're struggling again! Obviously I wouldn't be checking the forums if I wasn't a little anxious myself... Got a test in a few hours, though, so I should probably focus on what I can actually DO something about at this point...
  7. Oh man just had my first nightmare last night. Is it wrong that I prefer that to dreaming that I got in? At least that way, I'm relieved when I wake up, rather than disappointed.
  8. GGGGAAAHHHH this is so intense. As NSSLAHNerd said earlier, it comes in waves... I'm OK for now again. Grateful that you, neuronparty, are able (and willing!) to give us the inside scoop. Sweating it out without knowing that it was taking a little longer this year would have made it a little rougher, I think.
  9. Just wondering if anyone had any experiences to share about this program. They seem to have a lot to offer - definitely on the small side, but that can be a good thing. Their tuition is SO much more reasonable that my other option at this point, so I'd definitely like to give it a fair amount of consideration.
  10. Also, that moment when your reading for that night contains the content that would have made a great answer to that question earlier in the day... sigh...
  11. Looks like you have another interview somewhere else though, right? So, if you haven't done that one yet, maybe you can take what you learned into the next one? Anyway, I'm sure you did great. Everyone there, at least that I met, seemed really terrific. I don't know how they'll make those choices! I know that the people who are accepted should know soon (maybe by Monday....?), but I wonder how long it will take for everyone else. Remember that quote from Shawshank Redemption about time drawing out like a blade?
  12. So... should we fill out the agonizing wait by sharing tips from our experience for people who search the forums next year, or should we wait to see how it works out to know what advice is worth taking? That was so intense! So many great candidates, seems like a fantastic program...
