  1. @Cristianvb Im from Mexico. I will apply to conacyt, a government agency that provides scholarships and loans. The thing is CIPA wants to wait and hear how much conacyt is going to award me in order to make their funding offer. I understand their position but i still have to make a decision by april 15th and conacyt has not even started to accept applications for scholarships yet. I guess ill talk to jennifer and explain the situation.
  2. I applied to Ford and didnt receive an email like that. Hope it means good news for you!! Good luck If you are an international student, how did ur toefl went?
  3. I got my official letter yesterday. However, it said that a decision on funding would be issued once a funding agency to which i will apply for financial aid gives me their results (im an international student). It sucks...
  4. @Critianvb Nope, I still haven't and I'm getting a bit restless.
  5. I know you've already heard this before but you shouldn't worry too much about the AWA in my humble opinion. Its a part of the GRE and it is important but your Verbal and Quantitative are far more important and much much better (you are above the 80th percentile in both). I wouldn't take the GRE again.. I would focus on my essays instead to strenghten my application; these essays are not only the key to transmit your story and your goals but a way in which you can show every Admissions Committee that you are more than capable of writing in English. Some people, including myself, just can't write 500 words in 30 minutes on a random topic; it doesn't mean that you are not able to express yourself in another language.
  6. Got my unofficial acceptance too!! I'm with you @ajak568, feels great to start this way... I'm less terrified about March now. Congrats to everybody!!
  7. Congrats serwah!! Dont you feel relieved? I was going mad but now that I have an offer I feel much more at ease. What are your other options guys?
  8. For me, the dream would be: 1. Berkeley GSPP (MPP) 2. HKS (MPA/ID) 3. Princeton WWS (MPA)
  9. I just got an e-mail with an offer!! They told me that next week they would send me an official e-mail. They said nothing about funding though...
  10. I've got my fingers crossed on that. My areas of interest are educational policy, quantitative methods (impact evaluation particularly) and development. What are yours?
  11. Thanks!! That's what I needed to "hear" to get a grip. In my head I was already making plans and imagining life at CIPA and I shouldn't do that just yet.
  12. Congratulations to everyone who got admitted!! One question, after you submitted your application how long did it take for maxwell to reach a decision? Good luck to everyone
  13. Congratulations, Jawn!! I just received an email from a CIPA Professor saying he recommended my application for admission. Did something similar happened to you before you got the official email? @serwah Filming the video seems in retrospective the most stressful part of my application for CIPA. They told me they would issue a response within 1 to 3 weeks after my status changed to "complete".
  14. Hello, I've applied to several MPA programs for fall 2015 and as many on this forum (I hope) for the last couple of weeks I've been dealing with a lot of anxiety / freak outs. Today, a CIPA Professor sent me an email telling me he had just reviewed my application and that he found it excellent and was recommending me for admission (he marked copy to Jennifer Evangelista). I know this is a good sign and feel most excited but I don't want to get my hopes up so I'm trying to stay grounded in reality.. Is it normal procedure for Professors to email applicants in the US? Is it part of the school's admissions procedure? How certain of admission would you be? Thanks in advance for your opinions
