  1. I think the best established are TU Munich and RWTH Aachen. However TU Dresden is getting better and better in the rankings these days. As neongolden said, I think Aachen is not too exciting as a city. I would probably go to Munich.
  2. Well according to general rankings: 1. UCL (rank 16) , 2. UC Sandiego (rank 30) 3. TU Munich (rank 49). Source: www.metauniversityranking.com However, the rankings are biased towards english speaking countries and in Munich there is no tuition. I would either go to UCL or Munich.
  3. Interesting. Kind of surprising to see the tech school MIT ahead of Cornell and Stanford. But other than that, it pretty much the schools which always win. However, I think we should move away from these national rankings. Higher education is international these days. And I want to know how these schools compare to Oxford, Cambridge, Munich.
  4. I would look more broadly about which Universities have good statistic programs, not specifically bio statistics. I know that Stanford has a very good statistics program, Berkeley too.
  5. Cornell is good, they have a huge library dedicated to Asian studies. Other than that, check the rankings or ask people (professors of yours?) in your field I'd suggest
  6. Phew.. I don't at these national rankings. These days higher education is a global thing, so why bother with national rankings? Basically there are three international rankings, QS, THE and ARWU which people look to. These are the ones I care.
  7. Yes, of course. It is much harder to get good grad and a good GPA at competitive school with good students than at a bad university. So obviously universities consider this for the Masters application.
