Congrats! See you around campus in the fall R -
I plan on living close to campus and not using my car very often, but I plan on buying one when I get there (my wife will probably need one to commute to work). Anyplace you think is really good would be wonderful. Thanks again! Anyone have any idea where to look for places int he Maple Ash area? I see a couple apartments online, but they're really expensive (more than $1000 a month). R

Thanks. I'll look into that. R

I hope he brings his pillow. R -
Thanks, Nikki. I tried Pita Jungle when I visited campus last year and it was great! I'll be sure to check out the other places. I appreciate the advice, Breakfast. I would love the restaurant list if it's not too much trouble (I'm vegetarian too, so that would be perfect ). R

I got notified today that I got a TAship. Those of you still waiting on funding, here's how it works, it seems. You get put on a waitlist for funding and if a TAship or fellowship opens up (from someone else rejecting the offer), then you get it if you're next in line. Good luck to those of you still waiting. I hope you hear soon! R -
Anyone know anything about the following apartment complexes? Campus Walk Apartments Haven Apartments Campus Pointe/Riviera Palms Apartments Mockingbird Palms Quadrangles Village Amber Gardens Thanks. R

I'm in the same boat as you. I know that ASU doesn't fund everyone, but I'm not sure what percentage actually receives funding. Congrats on the acceptance, and I hope we both hear back about the funding soon. R -

on the city guide forum will let you know a little more about the city. As for why I chose to apply to the program, it's the openness for one thing (a broad variety of what can be studied and an interdisciplinary option), the uniqueness and variety of classes offered ("Technology of Writing: Video Game Studies" really stood out to me as a good example of this ), and the positive comments I've heard when talking to students and faculty about the program. I just got the email saying I was accepted Still no mention of funding for me either, but hopefully that will be sorted out soon. (By the way, my status still says "in review," too, so I don't think that means much either way). R -

I think the people that said they were waitlisted must have asked. I emailed a few weeks ago, and Dr. Luna told me that they don't inform people on the waitlist. R -

Has anyone heard anything new about when decisions would be made? R -
Do people currently living in the area have any advice for someone moving in? Where is the best place to look for housing? Any good restaurants near the university (any vegetarian places)? Anything you'd tell someone moving to the area that he might not know? R

It's odd that they didn't mention funding. Hopefully that gets rectified soon. R -

You're one of the few. I talked to Dr. Luna (the grad coordinator) by email on the 23rd, and she said they had only send out a couple of notifications at that point and the majority were still undecided. Hopefully the rest of us waiting find out soon. Regardless, congrats on the acceptance, and I hope to see you in the fall R -

Nope, I'm on the Rhet/Comp side. When did you get accepted? R -

Thanks Chrissy and Breakfast. I don't have any specific questions at the moment (I visited last summer and got most of the specifics covered then), but if I think of anything, I'll ask R -

Cool. Thank you. R -
Just curious. I applied, but I haven't heard anything yet. I emailed about two weeks ago and was told they were still in review, and I'd get an email when things were sorted out. R

I got a rejection letter today. I hope you all fared better than I did. R
-
Nope. I'm not sure what the deal is, but the email I got definitely said "this week." If they don't get back to us soon, I'll send another email just to see what's going on. R

What's on your reading list?
Shepherd replied to Medievalmaniac's topic in Literature, and Rhetoric and Composition
I've been reading Internet by Anonymous. I like it, but it's kind of all over the place. I've been reading it for about 15 years now, and I still don't know what it's about. R -
I got my rejection today too. I'm pretty disappointed, but what can you do, eh? Good luck with your other applications. I'm sure you'll get in. R
