  1. A friend of mine is actually doing this. She's going for Public Health and, despite her amazing stats and experience record, she hasn't been offered much aid at any of the schools she was accepted to. She only got the $50k loan package because her mentor knows someone. The program also told her that she can't work during the time she's there. Still, I believe her mentor told her to just go to Columbia for the prestige and the fact that she'll likely make $100k as soon as she graduates. This obviously isn't the case with counseling/education related professions though, so I would not accept if I was in your position.
  2. I'm like a half ABA person, haha. I work as a Behavior Assistant now. I'm planning on studying School Psych, but I'm definitely gonna keep trying to work in ABA until I can get more experience.
  3. I applied and accepted to the master's program. I won't be attending though.
  4. Just admitted to Psychological Counseling, but will not be attending. I was offered $13,086/year, but it's not enough and I was already accepted to my first choice.
  5. Skype. I live far from there and I've exhausted my interview travel funds already haha.
  6. Just heard back from Counseling and Mental Health Services with an Interview offer!
  7. I had a phone interview for Psychological Counseling last week and was told that scholarships were few and far between at TC.
  8. Nope. My app still says "Ready for review" as of thirty seconds ago.
  9. Rutgers? I didn't get that email, but I got the follow up stating that it was in error.
  10. I applied to UCF, NYU, Columbia, and UPenn. I have an interview with UCF next month and a phone interview with Columbia next week.
  11. I'm waiting to hear back from Connecticut for the master's program. I only just submitted my application two weeks ago though. Does anyone know of an approximate timeline for their decisions?

  13. Just got an email from a faculty member of my program (Psychological Counseling Ed.M.) for a phone interview!
  14. I wore a dress and a cream colored blazer. I wanted to kind of stick out a bit among everyone else since I figured they'd all stick to darker colors. I ended up being one of two people there not wearing mostly black. I changed from my boots into a pair of heels right before I walked into the interview (and handed them off to a friend to hold until it was finished).
  15. I just called GSE. I called the main admissions office and they told me that my application was still under review and that it normally takes six to eight weeks for an answer. Like a lot of you all said, master's applicants weren't processed until after the Ph.D. and Ed.D. ones. I then called my department (Applied Psychology) and was told that they would likely receive decisions this afternoon, so if I don't hear back by the end of this week, I should definitely hear something by the beginning of next.
  16. Late to the party, but is anyone interviewing at Rutgers next week? I'm so excited!
  17. I applied to the M.S.Ed. in Counseling and Mental Health Services. My app was submitted on 11/24 and my last LoR on 12/02. I've been going mad thinking that I've been rejected because I saw someone upload an interview offer on the results page in January. I just discovered the inside the GSE blog but it says my application should have been reviewed within four weeks of submission! I just checked tonight and apparently my application wasn't even marked as "ready for review" until 12/22! I'm so happy I found this thread though! It stinks that we all seem to have been waiting for weeks/months now, but at least we know that it's not a personal problem. I went through my entire application and statements all over again thinking I'd accidentally missed something. I even double quadruple checked the word count of my statement to make sure it wasn't over the limit. I was considering calling the department tomorrow morning to see what's going on. I've already interviewed at another program and I have two more coming up, but Penn is an amazing school and I really just want to have a chance at going there.
