  1. I e-mailed them and this was their response: "The first round of offers for admission have been completed. As we have received a few declines additional offers of admission have been sent out. Anytime a new offer is processed applicants are given two weeks to respond. We will continue to send out additional offers as space permits in the program. The overall number of positions is 30 students. This process can be a bit timely and take us until May or June to complete. On the other end of things applicants who did not rank very high have already been notified that the program is full. The best thing you can do is continue to track your status online through SIS. All applicants will receive a notice of decision before this process is complete. "
  2. Does anyone know how long Windsor University's social work e-mail usually takes to respond back to e-mails? I e-mailed to ask about the 2-year program and if all acceptances have been sent out already (I noticed in the search results function that some people didn't hear until mid-May on their results in previous years). It seems not many people on these forums have applied there, but if anyone has any information that would be extremely helpful (I have another offer that I have to accept by May 1 for a college, but I'm holding out until I hear back from Windsor).
  3. If you don't mind me asking, did they give a deadline for accepting their offer? I haven't heard anything yet so I am curious on if they are waiting for their first round of people to accept/deny it first or what.
  4. Just got a letter in the mail from U of T - rejection. Does anyone know when we should all be hearing back from Windsor?
  5. This is is very true. I was talking to a professor in the MSW program and she told me that a lot of the students actually come from well-off financial backgrounds (e.g. they had support from their parents throughout their undergraduate). She was just telling me this because I was so curious as to how people got so much volunteer experience coming out of their undergrad - especially with full time-studies and having a job.
  6. Have you heard anything back from Windsor yet? Or in general, has anyone heard anything from them?
  7. Does anyone know if Windsor University has sent out all their acceptances already? I have not heard anything from them yet.
  8. I have officially been rejected everywhere except Windsor and U of T now. Should I have any hope? Lots of people have seemed to heard something one way or another from all these schools, so I'm not sure why I have no update yet from UofT at least.
  9. IF you do not mind, would you mind sharing your social work experience/volunteer experience briefly? I don't know how to use the search tool in these forums to see if you already mentioned it. If you did, I apologize.
  10. I need to try to constrain myself from constantly checking these forums, especially since it's the weekend! Anyone else have that problem?
  11. I would like some advice as well. I feel it is very unlikely I will get accepted anywhere from a lack of experience in social service agencies. I applied to colleges for the Social Service diploma as well in order to gain more experience before applying again. Would anyone recommend this, or would it be just as smart to work in a job not related (most likely an entry-level job) and volunteer at a few places to build up my experience? Any help would be extremely appreciated, whether on the forums or through private message.
  12. Like someone else said, I think if they already reviewed your application that Angela would probably give the same generic response. Let's hope for the best though! I wish if they allowed re-submissions of things like resumes that they would make it widely known, it is not fair that only a small portion knows about it through these communities. That's just my inner striving for equality speaking out though Good luck to all of us who have had no acceptances yet! There is still some hope! No news is no news!
  13. My York file just updated today as well. Sometime this afternoon as I checked this morning as well.
  14. If you go check your Lakehead account all decisions have been released! Good luck!
  15. I do not think this is true. Mine has said "referred to the department" ever since they received all my documents. It means no news for now!
  16. Did they say when ALL decisions would be out by chance? I just ask this because in previous years forums sometimes the schools will give a specific date (like I think UofT last year said April 6 all results would be out? So they may have a definite date this year too)
  17. Maybe. I'm just finishing my undergrad and have 3 research methods courses on my transcript though and I have heard nothing.
  18. That's disappointing. York U was my top choice. I read someone earlier mentioning that last year they e-mailed one of the schools to know where the weakness in their application was. Does anyone know if this is acceptable to do? And does anyone know York's e-mail to contact for this information as well (I did e-mail them a few weeks ago regarding something else but never got a reply)? Side-question: If York U has sent out all their acceptances already, why wouldn't they reject the rest of us? :S
  19. I hate to be a realist/pessimist but from what I've heard each school gets around 600 applicants or more. It seems less than 50 of them are on these forums - so I doubt the number of people who get accepted here is any indication to go by. I was browsing last year's forums and it seemed most people knew by the second week of April for most schools, so there's still some hope; however, by this point I am strongly looking at my Plan B now. To the person who said York told them they've already accepted everyone into the MSW 2-year program, any idea why they wait so long to send rejection letters out to those who have heard nothing? I find it odd how they'll reject some people, waitlist some, and then accept some but then tell others nothing.
  20. Does anyone know what it may mean for those of us who have not heard back from York? I know some people have been accepted, wait-listed, and rejected, but some of us have heard nothing yet either.
  21. I wanted to apply for this and I signed up on the site but it was all extremely confusing for me. Good luck to everyone who applied for it!
  22. Denied to the HBSW at Lakehead, which is okay because I decided going there wasn't the best route for me anyways. Here's hoping I get into MSW! No decision yet anywhere else.
  23. As long as we find out before May 1st I'll be fine because that's the deadline to accept college offers. Fingers crossed! I just wish we would hear, even if it's a denial.
  24. Katkatkat, I feel the exact same way. I am prepared to not get accepted because I don't have too much in the way of direct social work experience, but I figured my research experience and other strong points would be worth applying; however, I am still optimistic! I hope I at least get wait-listed and not rejected everywhere, it would mean that I am on the right track.
