  1. I e-mailed gradsowk@yorku.ca on March 13, I will post in here if I ever hear anything! Good luck.
  2. My plan B is to go get my Social Service Worker diploma from a college as well as volunteer. Then I'll keep volunteering and hopefully have a job through the connections I make in the program (or at least any job and then just volunteer in relevant areas) and then in two to three years I'll re-apply again. That's my Plan B. I don't see myself being able to afford to keep applying every year so I'll take a few years to strengthen my experiences and then re-apply when I am more confident.
  3. Does anyone know typically how long it takes for York university to e-mail back to questions? I emailed them on March 13 but never got a response back. Side-note: You all seem awesome and I love these forums as it is helping knowing others are in the same position!
  4. You should try e-mailing or calling again! I heard that if you let them know you have 24 hours to accept another school and would like an update, they may be more inclined to give you one. It's worth the chance if you really want to go to U of T anyways. I agree with everyone else though, we probably won't hear anything until near the beginning of April.
  5. Looks like we are in the same "no news" group! Congrats to everyone else who heard something.
  6. Yeah, York was my top choice and I thought I had a better chance there than anywhere because I have a good amount of research experience and I do know it is a research-based program, which I was looking forward to. I just hope we find out soon and can start to think about concrete alternative plans if we get rejected.
  7. Does anyone know if it is bad news for those of us who haven't heard anything? It seems UofT and York 2-year have sent out both acceptances and wait-lists but no rejections yet (except to the people who did not meet the minimum requirements)... I wish we could have all found out at once - rejections and all.
  8. Congrats everyone who got accepted Fingers still crossed for the rest of us!
  9. Hey Baozafan, I see in your signature that you got denied from York. When did you find out? They're just my top choice right now and I'm itching to hear one way or another from them! And has anyone else heard from York yet? I usually don't e-mail universities for admissions updates but I did e-mail them the other day just for a rough estimate because I had trouble finding the information on their site.
  10. I know some universities will send out an acceptance to their top choices first in order to try to get them before other schools. It is likely that they will be waiting to hear from those students before sending out additional offers, so I wouldn't be worrying too much about UofT right now as it seems likely we'll get waitlisted or denied. I think this is a good thing though because it means those top tier students will most likely be accepting them and it'll give us more of an opportunity to get into other Uni's (right? right???)
  11. No change in mine yet either. I don't think this is any cause for concern yet. When I was looking in the old forums I saw people usually heard about an acceptance over the course of a week or two.
  12. Good luck! I can't help but keep obsessively checking this forum to see if there have been any updates, haha.
  13. I hope we 2-year stream applicants find out early! All of the 1-year people getting answers is making me want mine even more now.
  14. Damn. I think you have a really good chance of getting in. I feel really nervous now - you have extremely better credentials than I do. I wouldn't worry too much! Carleton can be pretty picky though, I do know that but you seem to have a lot of hours of experience, which is what they look for. Good luck!
  15. Hello everyone! I have been creeping this forum for a while and decided to join in the discussion. I applied to 2-year MSW programs and the 1-year HBSW program at Lakehead (as well as 1-year college programs as a back-up to gain more experience). April is so far away! I feel like I'm in Limbo while I hear about my friends getting accepted to graduate or law school. Good luck to everyone!
