  1. I've been trying to figure out a pattern of acceptance and rejections by day of the week but they are all over the place. I have a feeling I'm going to hear something within the next week or two just based on my knowledge of the decision process from the department. It's the graduate studies department who sends out the letters that I have no clue of their turnaround. I am just on pins and needles. Knowing that the program chair looked at my LinkedIn twice this past week; I'd expect to hear something soon. Hoping for good news.
  2. Just emailed my POI saying hi and telling him about his associate checking my LinkedIn and letting him know I haven't heard anything yet. Oh the torture.
  3. I invited him to connect, not really thinking anything would come of it. He looked Sunday and yesterday. I'm glad because after he looked the first time I updated my info.
  4. The department chair for the program I applied to has looked at my LinkedIn twice this week. I'm getting really nervous. I think they will be meeting next week after spring break and discussing my application. I don't know if he is gathering info for or against. I'm getting really freaked out. Lol this is driving me crazy.
  5. I wish there was a chat room. I'm bored and on edge. Tired of hoping and waiting. This cycle of waiting is so different than last year. All these emails, and looks at my LinkedIn etc: I don't want to work myself up with hope or dismay. It's a 50/50 chance and I know it. The waiting is killing me lol.
  6. The department chair looked at my updated LinkedIn again yesterday. I'm starting to get really nervous. I wonder if he is making up his mind and gathering info to discuss my app to the committee for or against. Eek.
  7. Like you I am not in a position to move anywhere so.... I applied to one school and am at their mercy. I was applying to a backup but one of my recommender's fell through so it hasn't been submitted. Plus, I really want the one I'm waiting on. It's like Torture!
  8. I did last year and I think it annoyed them. I was rejected soon after. I think just depends on the school and their turnover time for applications. If they are on spring break I'd wait until the end of next week.
  9. I was told the department started to review my application on the 3rd. I had met with some of the staff the day before they got my application and was told they probably wouldn't make a decision until after spring break; so at the earliest, next week. I saw that the University has rolled out a lot of decisions over the past two days, although none from the department I applied to and I keep getting freak emails about financial aid and campus vists, but I'm not getting my hopes up. Ugh. I have a much better chance with this program than I did with a different one at the same university I was denied admission to last year, but even though they are totally different areas I am weary about what happened last year happening again. I hate waiting! Lol
  10. I believe it is more common in CS. When I met with my POI he had me talk to the committee chair to see if I should switch to CoE for CS instead of the MSIT. I don't have a BS in CS or engineering so I knew the answer would be no anyhow. I'm still waiting for my decision for the MSIT.
  11. That is so awesome! Congrats!
  12. Well I guess they thought I was pathetic, which admittedly, I can be, but yeah. I was cyber bullied lol
  13. I'm imagining posting a picture of myself wearing my winter hat, infinity scarf and some face paint if I get accepted to KU with a bold "Rock Chalk Jayhacker".....Wishful thinking...... I don't want to get my hopes up.... Ugh please? Lol
  14. Yes they really did.
  15. Since KU is on Spring Break, I know that any decision notification will not come until at the very earliest sometime next week. (I applied at the end of February so no biggie.) Over the weekend the director of the program I applied for looked at my LinkedIn and I got a Campus email today talking about how great it is etc. I'm like, quit playing with my emotions already! Financial aid emails, campus visit emails, professors looking at my online footprint. Ack. Edited to add: Well it looks like people are getting notifications from KU this week from other programs. Now I'm nervous. I was told by the committee chair I probably wouldn't hear anything until after spring break. So now I'm starting to check my dang email again!
  16. Hahahahah you tagged someone who picked on me last spring instead of me. Lolz
  17. That is so unbelievably crappy of the school. I'm sorry to hear that. I haven't received anything else since I called financial aid to see if my emails were mass emails/common. The guy on the other end was kind of weird about it but I am not getting my hopes up. I suspect I won't hear anything for at least another two weeks or so since spring break starts next week.
  18. Yeah I've been getting financial aid emails from the school I haven't been accepted to yet. Lol Let's hope it means something good for us both!
  19. I have not, and they may offer the same. I just know KU has great programs. I think either one is great, it's all about the fit and what you are looking for.
  20. I'm throwing in the towel and saying it's just weird but means nothing. Otherwise I'll drive myself nuts.
  21. I'm too terrified to contact the program director. I have already met with the Committee chair the day before anyone in the department had received my application. I have a professor pushing for my admission so I don't dare stir the pot. I am dying over here with the weirdness of it all.
  22. I wimped out and called the financial aid office. Since I didn't have a student ID he asked me for my name, DOB and asked to verify my address and what term I applied for. I asked if it was common for someone to get an email from financial aid when they are not yet a student and he kind of gave me a blanket statement of if you submitted a FAFSA and your application is being processed then yes the mass emails are normal. I told him I applied last year for a different program and this didn't happen and was denied enrollment, so I just wanted to make sure because I didn't want to get my hopes up. It was weird all the way around.
  23. I want a job like yours! LOL
  24. Should I email my POI about these weird emails or leave it be?
  25. Right now I am doing everything in my power to not bug my POI about these weird financial aid emails. I don't want to stir the pot or make any waves. eeek You are brave, I am weak.
