Does anyone have a padded room I can live in for a few days? LOL
-
That is just horrid!

Right now anything will do. Haha. Once I get my kid from school I think I will be drinking lots of wine tonight. KU is playing with my emotions and I'm afraid to check my emails. LOL Don't send me emails like I am student when you haven't sent me notice of acceptance or rejection!
-
Every time I get an email notification now I am afraid.... LOL
-
I could seriously use some Patron right now LOL
-
Color me completely confused.

No, I haven't been accepted yet. This is the second email from them in 24 hours. It is getting really weird. LOL I am in freak out mode. I know it could be a fluke but the way they are sending them is weird too. They always start with a header with my email and an RE and Dear... I submitted my FAFSA in February. Staff was reviewing my application starting on the 4th of March. Then yesterday these emails started.

Life has been a series of craziness since this time last year. Health issues, job issues for my husband, moves, etc. When will it stop? And why would a university's financial aid department send me emails like I am already a student when I haven't even gotten an acceptance or denial letter? Stop playing with my emotions world! LOL
-
For your records I would do nothing, just tell people you prefer to be called by your middle name or nickname,

KU is playing with my emotions. I'm dying over here.

I just got another financial aid email. This is getting weird. I haven't gotten notice yet of acceptance or denial. UGH!!!!!! RE: No Action Required: You are meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress standards ** If you have graduated, please disregard this notice** Dear XXXXXX, You are meeting or exceeding the minimum academic standards for financial aid eligibility. This is an informational notice only and requires no action on your part. WHAT IS SATISFACTORY ACADEMIC PROGRESS? Financial aid recipients must meet the university's Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards to maintain eligibility for financial aid. SAP is based upon review of three areas: completion rate, cumulative KU GPA, and time-frame for completing your degree. Financial Aid & Scholarships will continue to monitor your status on a semester basis. You can check your SAP status online by logging into your Student Center on Enroll & Pay (https://sa.ku.edu) and clicking the Satisfactory Academic Progress link under Accept/Decline Awards. For SAP policy details and definitions please see - http://affordability.ku.edu/financialaid/sap. Note that SAP standards are not identical to the academic standards of the university or of any professional school or department. HOW DOES SATISFACTORY ACADEMIC PROGRESS AFFECT FINANCIAL AID? You must be meeting SAP to receive federal and state financial aid. SAP standards are not the same as the renewal criteria for departmental or private scholarships, graduate teaching or research assistantships, sponsorships, or other types of fee waivers. Students receiving scholarships should review the renewal criteria for those specific awards. Meeting SAP standards does not guarantee eligibility for these awards. Changes to your course enrollment on or after the first day of classes could affect your financial aid eligibility. Contact Financial Aid & Scholarships prior to making changes to your schedule. Please contact our office or stop by the KU Visitor Center if you have any questions. We wish you the best as you continue your education at KU. Sincerely, Financial Aid & Scholarships | KU Visitor Center (785) 864-4700 | financialaid@ku.edu | affordability.ku.edu

Yuck, I hate dental work, especially that kind. It will work out. Make sure to look for under advertised scholarships and apply for them.

Completely understandable since my husband told me if I don't get funding I can't go. HAH says me. I will find a way, if accepted. Think positive.

Indiana University vs University of Kansas
thepinkdragon76 replied to IUB_GCDB's topic in Decisions, Decisions
Topeka is very close to Lawrence and Kansas City is awesome actually. I am from the Tampa Bay area originally and we are stationed at Ft.Leavenworth, KS and have decided to retire here because we live in a small town but can easily reach big city amenities within 30-45 minutes. -
Indiana University vs University of Kansas

Having been to the KU Lawrence Campus and the downtown area etc; if you are looking for a more personalized experience and smaller community I would highly recommend KU. The professors are very approachable and interested in student success. It is the reason I keep applying there. Good luck! -
I was rejected last year by KU for the MSW program, so I emailed them and called on the phone to find out why and what I could do to improve my application. They were very reasonable and I understood their decision. This year I decided to stick to my roots and applied for a different program at the school. I am still waiting to hear but my chances in this field are much greater. I would highly recommend you contact KU and ask what they were looking for and what you could have done better. It always helps to know why in my opinion.

As for me and the weird financial aid email, I have heard nothing yet about acceptance or denial. I suspect I still won't hear anything until after their spring break next week. I'm just keeping my head up and hoping.
-
Take a deep breath and try and relax. Bask in the happiness of being accepted. A lot to schools don't offer funding until the end of March/early April. It will all work out.
-
I'm still so confused by this email from financial aid. Oh please let it mean I got accepted. I know it's not a definite but it sure is weird.
-
If that is where you want to go then do it. You will find a way to fund it, if you don't have an award yet.
-
I know I have a professor really pushing for my acceptance. I hope he is/was successful. I am trying not to freak out. I know my app was being looked at by staff as of last week. Spring break is next week and I didn't expect to hear anything until after they come back. Last night I got the emails about the graduate application processing checklist, which I have gotten when I applied before and thought nothing of it. Then today the financial aid email was headed with my email address and an RE:FAFSA received by KU and said Dear First name..... with dates and a link. I completed the FAFSA on 2/11/16. I will not get my hopes up... eek.
-
Odd question, when I applied and was rejected in the past from the same University, I never got an email from the school financial aid department saying my info was received and the dates awards will be posted. Is this common? I'm sure it's a fluke, blanket email. I'm still waiting on my decision. Fingers crossed. But it had a link for enroll and pay too. I will not get my hopes up.....

Congrats!!!

Emailed my POI yesterday and he is going to put in a good word to the program chair for me since my application is being reviewed by the committee. This is agonizing. Knowing their process, I'm sure the electronic vote will not be unanimous and someone is going to have to make a case for or against me to sway the rest at a meeting; which means they will be picking apart my application piece by piece. UGH lol
