  1. Received the GWU acceptance letter too, and unfortunately, without funding. Also have admissions from Georgetown (again, without funding - I have been in the state of mixed emotions for the past two weeks or so - acceptance letters, with no funding...). Am waiting for other decisions.. (definitely would want to avoid as much debt as possible!!) Anyone accepted to both, and considering between the two (or more)? 1. Does anyone know how the two MPP programs fare against each other? Any thoughts? My current work is in Education policy delivery - and I'm intending to specialize in Social + Education policy. 2. I'm rather concerned that the Trachtenberg MPP 2013 class profile (http://tspppa.gwu.edu/mpa-and-mpp-admission-requirements) is only 5% international - vs. McCourt's 42% https://georgetown.app.box.com/s/ore4gt3i0esno8gcrvhs - I am an international student (or will be, actually!) and diversity of opinions, experiences etc among classmates is something I factor quite highly
  2. @techboy - thanks! my undergraduate degree was at a local state univ, so fees were way way wayyyy cheaper (25% by merit scholarship, rest by family funding) than the MPP programs I'm applying to now. Not sure how much impact this info will have on my application. hmm.
  3. @pavlik - Thanks for the info! 1. Could you share about the Electives at McCourt - are you specializing/planning to specialize in a particular field? It seems that McCourt does not require students to choose specialisation (which is quite common in other schools). The McCourt website says - "Many McCourt School students choose to align their elective coursework with their interests and career goals. While not required, students may choose to focus their elective coursework in a particular area of study like Environmental Policy, Health Policy, or Development Policy." (https://mccourt.georgetown.edu/academics/mpp/MPP_Degree_Requirements) 2. What have been your favourite classes so far? 3. Also.. Are there many (?) opportunities to get part time teaching assistant/research assistant jobs in Georgetown University? (will need to cover a significant amount of costs, if I'm unable to get enough scholarship funding!) Thanks in advance!!
  4. Anyone applying for the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGS) - for nationals of developing countries wishing to pursue Masters in Development/Public Policy/Public Admin/Econs, etc? Info here : http://web.worldbank.org/WBSITE/EXTERNAL/WBI/EXTWBISFP/EXTJJWBGSP/0,,contentMDK:20276784~menuPK:551652~pagePK:64168427~piPK:64168435~theSitePK:551644,00.html Does anyone find the question on "Financing" strange? I feel like they are referring to the Masters Programme that is being applied for, though they mention "earning your highest university degree" (meaning a degree you have already earned)? Quote: "At the current US exchange rate, what is your best estimate of the total cost (tuition and other university fees) of earning your highest university degree? [enter amount in US $] *" Indicate by percentage, the source of financing for earning your highest university degree. Loans.... Self... .Family... Employer... Scholarship/Fellowship... Unquote Any insight on this?
