Hey, JTMurray. Thanks for answering people's questions here. It's very helpful! If you don't mind, I have a funding-related question. (It's sort of a network of questions.) I'm familiar with the standard funding opportunities that the program, university, and government offers. (I have in mind government-funded awards (e.g., CGS - M and OGS), government-funded assistance (e.g., OSAP), entrance scholarships (e.g., $5K, $3K), and UTAPS.) However, I'm wondering whether there are any other funding opportunities that you're aware of. Are there any bursaries/scholarships/etc. that you knew (or wish you knew) about before going into first year? As someone who would certainly benefit from financial assistance, I'm interested in hearing about any additional resourses you might be aware of. Thanks again for your guidance! PoP

Interesting. I have not yet. I wonder if the School of Graduate Studies processes all of applications (i.e., offers, alternates, non-offers) at the same time. Best of luck!

It's interesting that, at least in some case, (i) unofficial offers and (ii) financial decisions are going out at different times. IRbuff, you received *both* yesterday, correct? I received an unofficial offer on Friday, but I've yet to hear anything about a financial decision. So weird!

Some offers went out last Friday, for the record. (But you're absolutely right -- there is still plenty of time for offers to be extended.)

Nope. I have not written any standardized tests (GRE, LSAT, etc.).

Interesting. I was extended an offer last week, but the e-mail indicated that funding decisions would be made in mid-March. Do you know what the award/scholarship/fellowship is? Any other noteworthy information?

I'm not sure if I can point to anything in particular that is noteworthy. I guess it would have been the combination of my GPA (3.90), letters of recommendation, and statement of interest. I don't have any experience in the public sector or anything like that.

I was offered a $5,000 entrance scholarship.

Nothing noteworthy about my 'stats', honestly. I have a 3.90 undergraduate GPA at UofT. Some awards, a fellowship, etc. :-)
