Rejected from NYU

I figured I could try to connect with new graduates going to NC A&T this fall. I'm joining the mental health counseling program. Is there anyone else going to the same school?

Yes it is a great feeling to know I have somewhere to fall back on regardless. RA92 I will try to be more positive. I saw on the results page that someone said everyone might not know until April 15th so I guess I'll hang in there.

Aww Congrats!!! Did they email you? I got into the other school I applied to this morning so I am a lot more at ease because regardless I now have somewhere to go in the fall. Still haven't heard anything from NYU so maybe the rejection letter is coming who knows. Im just happy I got in somewhere lol.

Well Im now putting all of my energy waiting on another school that I applied to. It says on the website that the decision was made but the decision letter will be available 3 to 5 business days after the decision is made. I had an interview with that school March 20th that I can only hope went well but it was very intense. So between tomorrow and Thursday I should know something. Both NYU and this other school are seriously killing me with all of this waiting.

I didn't have a tour. We had our group interview, writing sample and then the individual interview all within a 3 hour time span. The individual interview was the most intense for me. Did you have your interview yet? I hope it goes well if you haven't. As far as ignorance being bliss for not knowing your competition, sometimes knowing who your competition is before hand is impossible. But it's always good to try and do your research from past semesters to try and see what you are up against.

I see that some people got accepted. I still haven't heard anything as of yet. Patiently waiting on my rejection email smh. Good luck to you guys though.

I saw that too. Maybe the faculty is working on the weekends. Very odd but I wish our department did that lol

Well I guess things are looking more and more like we will find out April 1st. Only a few days away.

It seems like all of the schools are taking a long time to make decisions or at least release their decisions to us. Hang in there. I don't think it means you got rejected as of yet. I would say look at the results from previous years to see when they released results last year. NYU said around April 1st so only a few more days for that one. I'm guessing my other school's letter will be available around that time as well.

I had a group interview last week. My group interview was a little different. The interviewers gave the group a case study to read and consult on for 25 minutes. They did not ask us any questions but did want to see how we worked in a group. It was important for each one of us to stand out as individuals and make our points heard but be sure not to over power/over talk anyone. My program is for mental health counseling so maybe that had something to do with the way they conducted the group interview... At the end of the day the person next to you is just as nervous, if not more nervous. I would not worry about your competition because you have to focus on selling yourself. Think of it as you looked good on paper, now the department wants to meet you and get to know your personality. You will do fine. I was freaking out similarly to you, but you got this. Good Luck!

I know the feeling. I only applied to three programs. All in November and it is now the end of March and still no decision has been made. Hang in there
