  1. Anyone still "Under Review" for UofT MPH Program?
  2. Congrats! Would mind sharing your stats it would really help give an idea of what they are looking for in a prospective student. Thanks
  3. I believe there is around 30-35 spots in the health promotion program.
  4. Canada needs to avail more spots in their graduate programs it's almost like they expect people to get jobs after completing a Bachelors degree. I am sorry but that's impossible unless you are in a specialized bachelors program or are an engineer I don't think you'll get a job after a mere four years of undergrad. This is obviously me venting but it's annoying to see such an amazing country has so few opportunities in graduate programs.
  5. So I took mine at OISE at UofT. You can apply as a special student and they have an introductory statistics course that goes through the basics and teaches statistical analysis on SPSS.
  6. Would you be able to share your stats/GPA? I am waiting for UofT to get back to me as I know decisions are being sent out. Thank you and Good luck at U of A!
  7. Congratulations! If you don't mind me asking when was the deadline to accept for you?
  8. Same here except for Health Promotion! I don't think results are coming out till early to mid May though.
  9. Hi SadGrad, Firstly I think GPA is not the only factor to influence graduate school admission. My honest advice would be to try to find a research assistantship paid or otherwise that will lead to gaining research experience. And don't be afraid to go out on a limb and email a researcher that you don't know because I can attest to the fact that is how I obtained one of my research experiences. Just make sure they work for a reputable organization, have previous/present research experience in a field of your liking, and hold some sort of educational position on the side with a known university. It's seriously incredible how many opportunities there are and yes most aren't paid but that's alright because if you work hard and show promise the researcher will share some of the credit with you or might ask you to make a research poster to present at a conference. It will honestly be worth it in the long run as you will have a good foundation for more experiences. Hope you hear some good news soon!
  10. Already heard from all my American schools, the only Canadian university to respond was Waterloo. Guess I'm going to NYU
  11. Congrats!! Saw a post on the admission results list which I am assuming is yours. Best of luck!
  12. Hey PiAngelos, Sorry for the late reply. I have been busy with work and school. But I tried to search for more information on the Guelph MPH but I couldn't find anymore than what was provided on the OVC website on the general MPH program and some of the courses. Currently, I haven't heard back from any of the programs. But I called Guelph and was informed that they would release decisions within the next two weeks since the Admissions Committee has made all the decisions. Also I see that you applied to the OISE Higher Education Masters, I am currently taking a few statistics courses in their Applied Psychology & Human Development Department and I really wish I had applied here for my Masters since the learning environment is one of the best. Hope you hear back soon!!
  13. Hey Everybody, Just found the forum for 2015. I applied fairly early to all the programs (Queens, Waterloo, Guelph, UofT (HP) still waiting to hear back from them all except Waterloo which I got a rejection from on March 3rd. Hopefully I will get more positive decisions in the future. Congrats everyone on the acceptances, I am sure there should be many more to come
