Thanks for the info. Well, I'll hope, but probably there will be no good news for me on that end then.
-
Congrats! Email from POI or DGS?
-
Vanderbilt on the results page. Oh no.
-
That's awesome. I'll wait for all my answers to post there, but I think everybody here should do it. Do you happen to have intel on when Penn will send its decisions?
-
I have to wait for six responses. UNC, Rochester, ND and Maryland have had acceptances on the results page, I don't hope much from them. Vanderbilt must be out today or Monday. The real question for me now is Penn. I cannot complain. If somebody said to me three months ago that I would have five good offers I would not believe. I'm sorry for those who weren't as lucky, but I can say this (and I've said a couple of times here already): there is always next cycle, and this doesn't have to be the end.
-
I was 99% sure they wouldn't accept me (Duke was a better fit and I didn't even make the waitlist there, same for UCSD), but it is still not a great way to end the week.
-
Yes. A professor signed, but using the Admissions email account.
-
Received my UMich rejection. Sad.
-
I wouldn't trade Columbia for NYU, unless the fit is way better.
-
So those weren't fake? Or just some were? Or none? We'll never know. Congrats!

I am sorry for your problems with Georgetown, but congratulations on ND!
-
I am in a similar situation. But I think I will know every answer before Carnival.

An acceptance by Notre Dame just appeared on the results page. Of course that would happen. I said yesterday that I expected results this week from everybody, EXCEPT Notre Dame.
-
A little question for those who applied to UMich: when you go to their Wolverine Access, what is the "Date Received" that appears for the Recommendations? Mine shows 02/08/2017, but my letters were sent way earlier than that.
-
Almost like a response to this thread, now there is a Yale acceptance by an American applicant. Or troll. Whatever.
-
Well, American politics nowadays are quite... interesting. To say the least.
-
And there is a new entry for Rochester claiming that all admission offers were sent. No hope on that end, but I'll keep waiting for the rejection email.
-
This week has had everything, except any responses for me. Or maybe Friday will be the day. I don't know what to expect anymore.
-
Not exactly. Probably they offer it for those that almost were accepted. Last year I was rejected by NYU and didn't get this deal from them.
-
Last year they took a while to send rejections as well. Been there.
-
I am waiting for MIchigan, maybe Vanderbilt and Penn and perhaps get some closure on Rochester, UNC and now Maryland. I don't expect Notre Dame this week.

Provided we're not talking about Top 5 vs Top 15, I think what I said above still applies, but you're probably on the edge of having an easy decision, particularly if your money concerns are addressed by the higher ranked school.
-
If their fits to your profile and research are really similar, perhaps you should consider negotiating your stipend with the higher ranked school. But before that you should gather all information possible about them, and visit them if possible. And as @Comparativist said, if the ranking gap is relatively small (let's say, 5-10 gap) you should pay less attention to the ranking. If we're talking 20-25 or more, only a considerably better fit could really create competition among them.

Totally.

You are right. I am more pessimistic due to re-reading my SOP to ND and finding it kind of botched...
