  1. I emailed yesterday and got a reply today.
  2. You could try emailing schol@nserc-crsng.gc.ca to ask about it. I think they'll be emailing upgraded offers this year. According to my programme's grad admin, they've had problems in the past when sending out upgrades by mail because recipients have a limited amount of time to respond, but people do a lot of travelling over the summer and missed the letters. Does anyone know if rankings were sent to people who were put on the waitlist? I didn't receive rankings last year. It would've been much more useful to have a sense of where my application stood last year. I got a CGSD and ranked 3/122 for physics and astronomy, but all that really tells me is my application was much better this year. I already figured that was the case with the CGSD, though.
  3. Congratulations, everyone! I got the email this morning, too. I'm just glad I'm done with the stressful scholarship application process for the rest of my degree I got waitlisted last year and didn't receive an email, only a letter in the mail. The email is from NSERC (double checked the headers), so I think it's reasonable to assume it's real. For people in Canada who received a PGSD, you may get bumped up to a CGSD since people outside Canada can only hold a PGSD.
  4. Forwarded by UToronto. I'm guessing that letters will be sent out this week or next week based on the dates in the last couple of years.
  5. It would have said that you're on a list of alternates, unfortunately.
  6. I've received my letter (in southern Ontario). It's dated 16 March.
  7. If you're really interested in doing machine learning research, I would suggest not attending UBC. I believe that all faculty doing research in that area have left in the last few years and ended up leaving their grad students behind. I'm not in the CS department at UBC, so I'm not sure what other areas of research are strong, though.
