1. Ok, well I got into Cornell as well, so either way. However, the head of the dep't at my school said (about my choices): well, Cornell is top 15, but Michigan is top 10.
2.

This is just false...I got into a top 10 school with a 710, as I said above, and I haven't done any original research.
3. It seems like most schools don't care that much about the GRE. I got a 710 (67th percentile) and got into a top 10 program, and 6 other top 20 programs. It has to do more with how much math you've seen, your grades, your undergrad institution, and your letters of rec.
4. It doesn't seem like you will have seen very much math by the time you apply. In order to get into top programs, I would guess that you'd need some topology, algebraic topology, and many more math electives. However, I would ask professors at your school, as they would know probably better than anyone which schools you should apply to.
5. I'm pretty sure they don't care what you wear. And knowing math people, I assume the majority of people will not be dressed up (jeans, tshirt).
6. I got accepted today. It was an unofficial acceptance from the graduate director, though. He said that details will be sent next week. I'm assuming this means more acceptances will be sent next week.
7. So I heard back from one of my middle-choice schools (ranked in top 15) immediately--ten days after I applied. The department there has been extremely friendly to me, and has been working really hard to get me to go there. I've been rejected (or essentially rejected) to all the schools that I preferred to this school, except for one school. This school is ranked somewhat higher than the school I originally got into, and is extremely prestigious. Anyway, I heard from them on Monday asking me if I was still interested in their program, and if so, to send them my fall grades. I sent them these things and they told me they'd let me know before April 15th. There recruitment weekend is next weekend, so I emailed to ask if I'd have my decision by then, and they said no. Is it wrong of me to feel down on this school because they're not recruiting me? I just feel like if I get in last minute, I'd feel bad turning down the great school that has been recruiting me, and I also might not have a chance to visit. A lot of people have told me I should definitely just go if I get in, but I feel slightly uneasy about that. Any thoughts? Anyone in a similar position?
8. Did UIUC only send out rejections so far? Has anyone heard anything positive from them yet?
9. I don't think anything was sent. This is just the status page.
10. I thought it might be useful to compile the open house dates that we know of. All I know so far: U of MN - twin cities: April 3 UIUC: March 15 UT - Austin: March 8 or March 26
11. On the results page, someone says they just got accepted to UCLA today. Did UCLA send out more acceptances today?
12. I'm still waiting to hear from two schools (Columbia and Michigan) before I can make my decision, but it seems as though both of these schools have already given out most (if not all?) of their acceptances, so I would rather not be waiting to hear if I'm just going to be rejected. How soon do you think I could contact these departments without it being rude?
13. Does anyone know if the UCLA acceptances were official acceptances, or if they will be sending out another round?
14. I'm into commutative algebra and maybe algebraic geometry. I'm not really sure yet, though.
15. Rejected now from Stanford and MIT. Accepted to Indiana and Texas. Waiting to hear back from Brown, Minnesota, UIUC, Cornell, UCLA, Columbia, Michigan. Anyone hear back from any of these schools yet?
