  1. Kirstin replied to my mail today; she just said that results will be declared within 2 weeks.
  2. Haha, if that's the reply then I won't make it as well And frankly speaking I'm not too dejected, because I knew this was coming. I have a semi-unrelated bachelor's degree in engineering, and no prior international internship/research experience. Applicants who had been in research-intensive roles are preferred. A master's program is what I initially targetted. Me applying to GESS was like Scotland playing in the Cricket World Cup None of us had any chance of winning, yet we were eligible to compete, did all that we could and enjoyed ourselves
  3. Oh I see. Anyway, it was a long shot for me, so no regrets. By the way, who mailed you? Kirstin or some other official?
  4. Hmm. But if you finalize on studying in Germany, then you'll have to take an English proficiency test. From this year the consulate has made this compulsory The last result updated here was on 26 May. Nothing since then. I'm really at a loss. For some results came as early as 10 May. I think results are being declared as and when the applications are checked. It's not that all applications have been evaluated and then results are being published. Also there may be the issue of newly formed departments. One good thing is that the applications to CDSB are evaluated by different committees, unlike those to CDSE and CDSS.
  5. Whoa, that's grand news! Heartiest congrats and wishing you all the very best for the exciting and eventful time ahead. See, my prediction has been so flawless And thanks a ton for the good wishes, I really need it now. And yes music, along with Hangman and Sudoku, will fill up the tensed moments of my leisure. Keep dancing, be awesome always
  6. Looks like our anxieties are aligned as well It's been a horribly anxious day for me - checked my inbox a few dozen times in between work, messed up my schedule, the to-be-done list got longer, and deadlines are snarling at the door. In short, screwed myself up wondefully. And it's literally 'any day now', because I've seen admission results being sent on weekends as well. The admissions office said results will be announced by mid-June. How many millenia till then?
  7. Nope, visa interview. Sorry for the confusion. Have youy already taken TOEFL/IELTS?
  8. Oh, much relieved now. Some friends said the approval process after the interview might take around 21 days. The earlier, the better. And from this year English proficiency test is mandatory for visa application. Will have to take TOEFL as well.
  9. Mid-June should be the limit because classes will begin from September and those who'll be selected will have to complete a lot of visa application-related formalities. I haven't called the office but definitely will mail. Hadn't been home yesterday. Will have to submit all remaining applications within this week, am stressed like hell
  10. Same here :-( Tell me something, in your email did you only ask about the probable date of declaration of result, or about your application status as well?
  11. I guess they are flooded with emails. But admission results are emailed even on weekends, so we can expect a mail anytime. I will email the office early next week. In the meantime will have to write another SOP.
  12. That's great, so you already have a good option in hand. I don't have research experience, but do have some related professional experience. And I took the GMAT. I've applied for the integrated Ph.D. program in Management of Goethe Frankfurt and will apply for the M.Sc. Management programs of OVGU Magdeburg and Goethe. As I've done my bachelors in engineering, options for graduate studies in management are very limited for me. From which university have you got the offer? Daily life would be much easier in an English-speaking country like the U.S. Will Mannheim still be your first preference? But here it's a Ph.D. program, so that's an advantage. By the way, do you speak German?
  13. Yes, until last year it was offered jointly with Accounting. From this year Accounting and Taxation has been split up. Same for Operations Management and Information Systems as well. Did you apply in the first round? I did right on the final deadline
  14. Mid-July? I don't think it'll be that late. Yes, definitely, I'll inform you if I get to hear from the admissions office. I generally contact Marion Lehnert.
  15. Hi Angelika, sorry for the late response; was busy with some other applications. I will mail the office shortly. Just read all the posts on the 'search results' section. A probable reason for the delay is both the Taxation and OM programs being new ones. So it might be taking some time to get everything in order. I've noticed that the ones who have posted their results until now (both accepts and rejects) all applied for existing programs. Please don't assume you'll be rejected. Only because of this delay... no way.
  16. Finland? Well, once I tapped the Weather Channel app, navigated to Helsinki, and found the minimum temperature at -22 degree celsius. Closed the app quickly as I could feel my fingers going numb Here where I stay in India, the minimum I've seen lately is 12 deg celsius. During the summer months, we enjoy the 41 deg heat wave. And the insane humidity makes the weather all the more pleasant. Visit our country anytime from April to July to feel the magic I've applied to Goethe Frankfurt and Uni Mannheim for the Ph.D. programs in management. The other applications are for Master's programs, to OVGU Magdeburg, Uni Siegen and Goethe. Considering your course of study, you could've availed yourself of many quality options in Germany, especially at Goethe. It offers a master's degree course in East Asian studies. But Netherlands is excellent both as a study destination and a place to stay. I've never been there but the tulip-field-and-windmill wallpapers are absolutely amazing! Still, I think you won't have to go there, because you'll get the scholarship and study right in the UK! All the very best. And being a Yoda follower, I'd say "May the force be with you"
  17. The Djibouti plan had to be shelved as none in our team speaks French or Arabic But yeah Seychelles looks good as it speaks English. And Tuvalu will be just splendid! On a serious note, yes, it's always better if you're into a job, preferably full-time. Presently I'm working full-time with a business consultancy, but feel that a masters degree in management sciences is necessary for better opportunities. And since we're eternally fascinated about these 'awesome opprtunities', our attempts to upgrade ourselves never end In course of searching for study programs, I found some integrated Ph.D. courses in Germany and decided to apply. I'm ready to accept any offer even without grant, as education is Germany is subsidized. What programs are you applying for, prinssi12?
  18. Whenever I feel too weighed down, I deviate my attention to the glaring flaws of democracy. I read, I analyze, I criticize. I also shed a tear or two about the dinosaurs that died some years back Have planned a trip to Djibouti as well, let's see if everything falls into place or not.
  19. Haven't, until now. Someone commented on the results section that results will be announced by the end of this month. Which specialization did you apply for?
  20. Hi friends, When can we expect the results of the CDSB Ph.D. programs to be announced? I had been checking several websites - it appears the postgraduate program in Operations Management is a new one, being split from the previously-offered Operations and Information Systems. Also, has anyone got admitted in the first round? Please comment, thanks.
