Would you mind sending me the same information? I didn't have enough time down in Charlottesville to get a great feel for the area, and I've been told most apartment buildings fill up early! I won't be able to get back down there for a couple weeks, so any info would be a great help.

I also have yet to hear from NYU, and I'm also waiting on University of Colorado Boulder. I definitely agree that NYU is being a bit rude about it all. I've tried to follow up and the grad secretary has given me the standard response that decisions are still being made, they will let us know as soon as they can, etc.. doubtful though. Colorado I think just moves on its own time.. I'm mostly committed to UVA as well after a great trip down there last weekend (so hello future classmates!), but I still feel strange making the final decision without knowing.

I agree with all of this as well but was having trouble vocalizing it. So thanks, since this actually helped me clarify my own thinking! May I ask, what's your subfield?

Hello! I'm glad you started this thread. I'm very torn right now, trying to pick between Ohio and UVA. They are both great for my field but for some reason I'm having trouble leaning one way or another. I feel like the people at UVA have been more on top of things and it may have a slightly better reputation, but Ohio has been more enthusiastic? Which counts a lot in my book.. I guess my biggest concern about Ohio is Columbus itself. I hear it is a great town but I've never left the east coast and have mixed feelings about moving there. What are your hesitations?

I'm American Foreign Policy. I wouldn't worry yet, the people I spoke to said they wouldn't finish figuring things out until next week.

Apparently they are just finishing up fellowship and financial aid decisions at UVA, so for those who haven't heard, you should hear something early-ish next week.

I think that sounds like the best idea! She's pretty fast on email. I would just ask it straight, and maybe apologize for bothering her? Although honestly I'm sure she is getting so many inquiries that it doesn't bother her at all.

Michigan! I would love to hear from Michigan. It is my top choice, and though I'm sure I got rejected, I'd love to know.. didn't someone say accepted students would hear today or tomorrow?

It is just the impression I got from my PA there, that this is a particularly rough year for funding at UVA. I'd love to be mistaken though.

I just saw the one acceptance posted on the board for UT Austin. Congrats! Has anyone else heard from them? It is my top choice so I'm trying not to panic that I haven't heard anything...
