  1. Just FYI, most top programs (maybe all of them?) will specifically state they want three recs from people who can speak to your skills and promise as a researcher. I don't know what interactions you've had with the Research Club Advisor, but from what you say they seem like someone who knows you well, so they could maybe be your fourht rec. I would try to find a third that can talk about you as who you are in the lab like your home PI and Harvard PI will.
  2. Oh, I meant notifications as far as who is getting interviewed or not. At this point I'd imagine most programs have notified of interviews or not, except maybe IGP due to its long process which is why I was contrasting that.
  3. I'm pretty sure NGP has already sent their notifications. IGP, no clue. They have a long process as they're rolling, so your app could likely still be in review.
  4. First, Keck is definitely a proper university. For that, just being a graduate school means UCSF or Rockefeller aren't proper universities... They're new, but that doesn't make them less of a "real" or "proper" school. Also, the consortium they're a part of (the claremont schools) are five of the best liberal arts colleges in the country. They all have great education going on there. As for the program, I don't know about Northeastern, but Keck is a lot more industry oriented than it is oriented for academia. They have tons of connections in industry despite their recency. And if you look at their curriculum, industry internships and business classes are actually a required part of the program. It's not gonna be your regular benchwork and paper writing bioscience masters degree (super simplifying advanced science degrees, but they hardly ever even have business class electives available). Keck is a specialized program and they've honed that really well, so try to compare what it offers in its strengths for that, because they know what they lack and that's not what they're competing for.
  5. Got it worked out, and I'll be visiting! If this happens to anyone else, still reply!
  6. That was probably a good idea haha I can't stop thinking about how dumb I was about this... They do have alternate dates though. I asked about them but I'm a bit concerned about the perception and availability. I guess I could foot the flights and hotel myself if it makes it possible to visit?
  7. Shiiit, just checked my alternate email and found out I had an interview invite waiting for 9 days. Ended up responding just now, I have interview conflicts so may not get to go, but if I do does anyone know if this would be detrimental to the decision?
  8. For those that have gone to interviews so far, how far in advance did you get a list of professors you were meeting with? I've got one this coming week and haven't heard anything.
  9. I actually do like development! But I'm neuroscience, I really like the visual system a lot but I enjoy sensory systems generally.
  10. Me three!!! What research areas are you guys looking at?
  11. That's quite a few weekends, didn't realize they were a large program or are they just offering flexibility? I'm actually really like their program, and applied, lots of POIs' research I could see myself doing.
